Hougang Central Integrated Transport Hub

This was announced before GE2011. I wonder when the authorities will start building given the result in GE2011. Of all the announced hubs, HG's maybe the least of a hassle to build since the current bus interchange is already "temporary", no need to build a temporary interchange already. And the whole land is already "emptied", no need to chase this and that away already.

this was posted in sgforums more than 4-5 times liao. this was also announced long ago however no actions has been taken, instead they went to build jurong and bedok's

lol. I think Hougang will have to wait. In anyway, it is not under the PAP's ward. Definitely priority wont be given to them also..

i believe the rush to replace with these ints are mainly to free up land space for other developments. Every sq/ft costs $????? and shopping malls and residentials can also be built on top of these new ints, hence earning much much more money!. that's why the new ints are so cramped up. -

I don't think they will be building any temp int for the HG one while the new one is being constructed..
they should be using the current HG int as a temp one instead..

"Made known" and "Planned" are 2 different things. Most likely the reason is political. Anyway, if it is like TPY interchange, then okay. If like SK interchange... might as well remain status quo. -

The current interchange is under Hougang SMC while the planned hub is inside Aljunied GRC. -
LOL.. Hougang Central Int so new, upgrade for what.
Probably places to look at are Yishun Int, Tampines Int, Bukit Batok Int... -

Current interchange is in electoral district HG10, which was carved out of Hougang SMC and transferred to Aljunied GRC. Not that it makes any difference now, still under the same MP. -
Whether is it political or not, I guess we're not politicians, look at the practical aspects of it.

I don't.
It leaks and the there's the bus jamming problem there also. Hardly big and spacious at all with the need to walk one big round to get where I want.
And the design also ensures that whoever walks around the 165/153 and 51/151 area is guaranteed to get wet with a heavy enough rain.

Tampines Int had some refurbishment done to the roof all back then..Its way good enough alr.No need a stupid new int.. =.=
