Doors?

  anyone know the purpose of the doors in between cars of mrt trains?

  we dont have such doors in our mrt trains.  but i saw it on the US and korean trains.

  Wrong forum, but in many countries the separate cars are not joined by an articulated portion. This makes for more flexible deployment of cars/trains.

  because the area between cars is actually exposed. in London you're not allowed to open the doors when the train is moving for safety.

  Japan also has, for example Tokyo Metro 16000 Series car for Chiyoda Line. Mainly for noise reduction and isolation purposes.
