Well well... I m rather happy to see the lances gg off. Hope 980 get something new in return. By looking at sv 167 169 851 852 855 buses nowdays it seem tat SMRT had totally neglected 980 :(

Ironic all these while the Lances are maintain by at least 4-6 Cummins certified Technicians and still got many errors.Sources I know they will soon refurbish the UKs only.

Good to hear that.I hope they keep the UK Lances.They still seem in acceptable condition to me.If they refurbish and maintain the Malaysian and especially the UK Lances well,they would definitely be very good to ride on.Today i took TIB1010Y on 969 by chance and overall,it was actually quite a good ride and the aircon was also surprisingly working well.But the engine was giving off a very loud whistling sound which i dunno was due to what. -

If they want to solve the problems left behind by TIBS, now is the best time. Its likely that this decision took into account the govt's intentions of subsidising fleet purchase.
Why hang on to these problematic buses?

Actually Lance is a good bus.It became problematic when SMRT neglect the maintenance and tighten the bus powerful acceleration after numerous of rear hit accident.

Thats why.Today by real chance for a 2nd consecutive day,i took TIB912B on 969.I think they have done something to the aircon finally,because it was quite good today.At least i could feel the aircon blowing,not like the last time when i took this Lances and it was like a furnace.At least it was cool inside the bus today.Overall it was actually quite a smooth ride.Honestly saying believe it or not,yesterday 1010Y and today 912B the ride was really better than expected.

Yes. But I prefer the UK lances. UK lances must stay, the 1999 lances with fabric seats should be scrapped instead.

I can say the CKD MAN bendy cost less than the CBU Citaro G.But anyway i dun think SMRT will buy the WAB bendies..The most they will buy ie 200 units provided they retired all the current bendies..Sooner or later i feel they will be more focus on 3 axles DDs if they decide to upgrade certain fleets
