Early retirement for SMRT's Dennis Lances and Hinos?

Heard that the SMRT's Lances and Hinos are going off an early retirement starting next year. Looks like the 200 new MAN buses will replace these buses in near future.

Doubtful as SMRT had yet to solve the O405 and L113 replacement, 200 MAN should not be enough. Hino and Dennis are younger than them.

And yes, the Lances and Hinos are most likely going to retire early.

SMRT seems to have a very problematic fleet.
Apparently putting one egg in one basket is not what you should be doing. SMRT inherited that legacy from TIBS.
But then the problems really started once SMRT took over. Has to do with how they maintain the fleet.
I have already seen Citaros with malfunctioned brake lights. Says a lot about general mainteinance?

MAN can oso go to svc like 965, where a whole fleet of poorly maintained buses are the only variety there. 965 might probably take 2-4 MAN perms in the near future.

Someone once told me that UDs will be gone by latest Feb '09 and what happen next is that im still seeing UDs happily running around. Btw its alrdy Nov '11.

i wouldn't be suprised that SMRT might be retiring other old buses and bring in new ones, probably to meet WAB requirements in the future for their services? Majority of SMRT Buses fleet are still TIB-era buses which none of them are WAB.
