Volvo East Asia has announced it's integrated distribution centre for Volvo, Renault & UD trucks.
It's launching the new UD Condor truck series.
Volvo has also announced it plans to hop into the bus - coach segment for which it has only supplied buses to SBS.
btw, UD is now fully owned by Volvo Group
more Volvo buses to come?
Would they promote the UD buses?
UD no longer produces anymore bus and coaches, not even chassis.
They ceased their own manufacturing in 2007, but used Mitsubishi Fuso as an OEM (i.e. Mitsubishi produces the vehicle for UD, then rebadged) for their Spacrunner/arrow series until 2010 where they broke up.
So its effectively a "Leyland" now.
Volvo bought over UD to expand into the Asian market?
Renault's strength is the midi van series.

Since maybe 2007-2009. They had for a long time shares in UD and I think they bought over Nissan's stake in UD.

Which are still produced by Renault cars and distributed by Wearnes here.
Renault diversified their bus and truck businesses, with the bus business going over to Fiat (through their stakes in Iveco/Irisbus). The truck business went over to Volvo Group. The engine used on the B9TLs supposedingly were developed from a Renault Truck engine.
The bus - coach segment is pretty difficult to get into w/ so many PRC buses.
