This bus brokedown just now at Yishun Ave 2 ard 630pm.While i was on svc 969 at the Blk 608 bus stop at that time,i saw it at the bus stop bay blocking the path of the other buses trying to enter the bus stop.No breakdown triangle was placed though. The SL of the bus was standing behind the bus guiding other buses away from it.

add SMB148T as well.
SMRT Citaro new-new, but guess what, I came across one with more than 1 of its rear lights offline.
And the best part was, the brake lights weren't even working.
You can buy the "best" bus, but if you dont even bother to do simple mainteinance for something so bloody crucial in day-to-day driving, what's the point?
Btw.
I took the Citaro on 52 out of whim and while I was impressed once again by how nice the suspension was, I still felt like suffocating in the bus which totally spoilt the experience. The aircon temperature was ok, but there was barely any circulation of air inside the bus. Mind you, that was at night. Can't imagine what it is like in the daytime. And then when I went to sit at the rear to have the "I'm the king of the bus" feel, I nearly slipped as I raised myself on my legs slightly to reach for my wallet. That's when I realised, the flooring for the raised sections is not the usual non-slip type, it was in fact, quite slippery! Maybe need to feedback this to SBST... As for smoothness, the Voith also produced the standard jerks we've seen in all Voiths....so I won't say good/bad things about that.
Hence, if given a choice, I would still pick a K230UB anytime. The body is no-nonsense practical type, the aircon is always good, the performance of this type is also not as bad as so many people claim (comparable in fact to the Citaro), little vibrations and jerk now, I can live with a little radiator noise just like how I survived the MKIVs and B10TLs. Only thing I still hate is the floating effect at the rear of the bus because of poor weight distribution. And certainly I prefer the more spacious feel of the K230UB...though the Citaro looks more stout ironically.

Give me KUBs anytime over Citaro. I took both models on svc 66. It was at night and the Citaro felt stifling even though the bus was pretty empty. Although the bodywork feels sturdier than KUBs, there seems to be a lack of standing space which may make the bus unsuitable for peak hour crowds (I love the standing room available on KUBs). I shudder to think, given my propensity to sweat, how uncomfortable I will feel on a Citaro. Usually when I board the bus, I will sit down and adjust the aircon duct to blast at myself. This is where the KUB's strong aircon wins. In fact, it is the strongest now, in my opinion, among the SBST fleet (with the exceptions of some VO3x Batch 1s which just blast cold air be it rain or shine).
The rattling of the poles and vibration of seats have been reduced and I actually find riding on the Euro IVs pretty much enjoyable since they seem to be rather speedy compared to the Euro Vs. Of course, the rocking horse effect is irritating but I guess as long as you are not seated on the last 2 row of seats, the rocking effect is not that bad.
Went to Mercedes-Benz UK website ytd and saw this article:
Does that mean the Citaro won the Best Bus of the Year again in 2011? (in Europe)
