Don't ask me why 74 is doing the opposite, holding on to the oldest possible fleet.
Service 88 when newly introduced in Feb 1999 did not have a fanciful fleet. Started off as a PAC fleet with only a mixture of NAC Scania N113CRBs as well as 0405s and MK3s. There were no DDs and MK4s then. As Sengkang and Punggol were still under Tibs, 88 was then the only SBS service to pass thru Punggol Road corridors.
Think it was only after when SBS announced the plans to take over Sengkang and Punggol services from Tibs, SBS wanted to show off good by deploying new and fanciful fleets along these areas. From then, 88 started getting all the brand new MK4 DM3500s and eventually the older buses got booted out, eventually 88 became a FAC fleet. And after Sengkang services were taken over by SBS in Jul 1999, 88 started getting new VO3x DDs together with newly taken over services 864 and 865.

Look man, I dont need such a long reminder since I've been taking 88 since day 1 till now. A good 13 years already.
And no. Getting those new buses hasn't had as much to do as the friggin amounts of crowd 88 had since that day 1. There was no way a 20 min frequency (!) and only SDs could in any way handle that then. NAC buses on 88 did not stay very long. Just a couple of months.
So can you explain why 88 still remains a recipient for new buses many times?
And then tell me how 74 BCs must have offended the higher-ups?
Anyway, since you wanted to provide so much information, I find it amazing that you did not include MK4 DMs as part of 88's initial fleet.

Haha best.
As usual,he was emphasising on the 'unfanciful' fleets..At the starting alr every svc can have 'fanciful' buses meh??If like that, very shiok alr what.Obviously will take time one la..Think what this one so song ah starting alr can put new buses on every single svc.

What time did you see it or which buses was infront/behind it? Likely BNDEP, since that bunch none under HGDEP leh.

Yep. It belongs to BNDEP. On SgWiki :
"SBS6168L (BNDEP SP)"
That's what she said.
The only citaro ( PERM NOT CAMO ) on 109 from HGDEP is this on SgWiki :
"SBS6065A (HGDEP 109)"
Only 1 citaro. lols.

It it is true, it will be the only svc I know to have complete WEG and Citaros only.

To me, I prefer 43 to stick onto the K230UBs rather than the Citaros. I had a comfortable ride many times with the bus on 43 when I need to get from Paya Lebar MRT to CDAC Headquarters Building in late 2010, mid 2011 and late 2011.

Err mister, there are 3 perm Citaros for HG 109 and they are all reflected on the SAME wiki page. 6065A, 6067U & 6076T. If you had scrolled down alittle more, you wouldn't have been that blind to miss them.

You're saying Citaros are not good buses anymore? :'(

on a hot day, they are just not comfortable at all.

The A/C is just powerless.....at least SBST tried to do something by adding A/C vents at the rear for the newer Citaros, 6150 onwards iirc.

Of course they are not good buses at all! I had a bad impression of the Citaro as on the day I took my first Citaro SBS6001J on 7 June 2011, the air-conditioning is not very good. Even if the newer ones had good air-conditioning, I agree what AEW5001 said.

Nonsense!! Scanias are rubbish and worse!!

I can say some are just crap, but most of them have much better A/C than the Citaro.....

You can go ahead and say that those words make no sense. To me, your nonsense make no sense at all.

What he said is correct. There are 3 HGDEP 109 perms, except that SBS6076T is HGDEP 109/315.
