Bus with strong aromatic hydrocarbon smell

  I am not too sure if this topic exist.

  I usually take 99 from clementi interchange back to Jurong. I notice that the newer double deck bus got very strong CNG or diesel smell. I wondered if this is normal

  Initally when they change to the new bus, I thought the strong smell is normal and would go away after few days.

  But after a few months, I notice the smell won't go away. So i was wondering what's the smell....

  i'd reckon VSOs have the strongest hydrocarbon smell, but well i'd gladly bear with it since VSOs are so comfy (less BN ones, with half-replaced seat covers and floorboard).

  Yes it's very comfy~~ i like it too~ the air con very cold also!

  most probably from the aircon judging by the wikipedia. its either that or the smell came from the new components such as seats, aircon panels etc. ~ just my opinion :D

  aircon panels... I was suspecting this also  we'll see 6 months later if the smell still there.

  Where does it come from??? How long will it take to fade away from the new buses???

  depends coz its not the same for every bus..

  even some Ks that I took, still got that "lovely smell"..

  The EURO4s do not have the smell anymore.

  Maybe the SBS5xxx series some still have it...

  dun think is diesel , diesel vapour is not pleasant
