The only time its ever been smooth is............late night. And late afternoon.
Any other timing is BAD.

I mean when the route started.
Those days even Dunearn Rd, the only horrid jam place was Farrer Rd junction. Arbo, is KAP.
Miss the old days of smooth bus or car rides...
Damn....travelling is real pain in the a** now.

not benefitting for you? 151 short alr.
worse ah.
the jam is one of the worst i had ever ever encountered.
that jam of macpherson = all the jam you can think of in the entire route. full 45 min stuck at the place starting from the junction before royal sportshouse.
says a lot from someone who has stuck with full-route 151 and its nonsense for years already.
got try today?Originally posted by SBS2601D:worse ah.

wa big fire in me today.
I was late by 20 min for my lecture at 8am simply because the 10 from harbourfront did the disappearing act. AS USUAL
WALAO EH!
I missed a lot of crucial bits.
10 is another troublesome service!
So what now? Try EWL->95 and get back to you?
And speaking of which today's 1535 DD slot from KRT kee sot.
Normally the BC will go so slow that I get 1 hr 30 min sleep.
Today another BC drove and took 55 minutes.
The following are sms sent to friends***
1556: At SIM Uni liao. Eta 5 10PM.
1613: Entering PIE. Crazy driver. Eta < 5 10PM.
1648: I reach HG Int liao. Where are you guys?
*******
Now you know why I can't stand 151 very often. The variability in journey time is a nightmare. Today I was early by 30 min. 2 days ago I was late by 45 min. And not all the time, its caused by "traffic conditions".
If the BC hadn't crawled from HG Ave 3 today, it would have been a record 40 min, I'm sure.

maniac driving.
Oh yah, some day back... got 1 sports car dun dare to stop at bus stop as there was a traffic light crossing, though I could have boarded the bus had the car stopped as usual..
But wait, bus stop box scared, yellow box not scared of summons?
it's best LTA go down there send summons almost everyday..
the bus stop at the caltex petrol stn is a must-call..

Maybe you can consider taking 107 until the stop after Potong Pasir MRT and walk over to Jalan Toa Payoh?

or 153 --> 151... but then i dunno whether can board the 151 at jalan toa payoh or not.. too long never take 151 liao...
If I do that, I might as well take 153 to Bukit Timah and hop onto the NUS shuttle?
Which isn't terribly frequent.
Tmr I'll try my luck with 151 and see if any improvement again.

he can consider going to NUS via the AYE corridor, bypassing woodsville flyover completely.

after seeing this thread, i'm alr scared to take any bus that uses that flyover on peak periods.
it seems just as bad as the stretch from ubi to mcpherson est area along upp p lebar rd.
this shows that whampoa north was good measure to accommodate a long queue of vehicles that needed to go to TPY/PIE/CTE from McPherson/Upp. Sgoon.
but nowwwwww..... jam jam jam!

Early morning peak period, that junction towards KRT is deserted. It is late morning when the traffic snarls.
And no.
I won't dream of taking any bus to AYE.
Its either NEL->curse at 10, NEL->143/30->curse at 10 for not arriving, or 151->curse at traffic.
Now that I say that, its clear where my destination is.

then u have to beat the jam and wake up early lor.
like how ppl from JB come to sg to work.
That doesn't work with 151.
Look at PIE, Stevens Rd, Dunearn Rd, Clementi Rd for why I say so.
If you want to beat the crowd, you simply put your lessons in the afternoon and pray that Woodsville doesn't pull any stunt.

i suppose KRT itself... i'd suggest 153 queensway > 51 but then again not sure if it works for you...
It won't....because if I had to take 30/143/51/188, I would have to walk a distance. And the reason why I would even consider 30/143 is only because 10 is CMI.
The best bet is still 151/153->BTC->B/C, 151 or NEL->10.....provided the buses cooperate. They like to pull stunts.
This place is horrible. Do road works when i first join a company nearby til i quit the company and its still doing works.

BTC isnt that bad. It's frequency is horrendous but it generally arrives on time, esp in the morning.
If not take NEL->188. 188 is much more reliable even if the frequency is terrible. Or take NEL -> 30/143/188 -> 10/200. 200 is quite frequent and regular in the morning.
*lubs chin*
Oh ya. I forgot about 200. That's quite a brainwave indeed.
I had worked out that BTC would save me quite a bit if I take it both ways. And the SC K230UB is so comfortable. Yet whenever the 151 reaches that stop, I usually miss it as I'm snoozing.
I think I'll take EWL->95 later. I haven't taken this way in donkey years...and late mornings isn't so terrible that way.
svc_238> The previous few BCs crawled all the way on that particular DD slot and reached HG only after 5 10PM. Thus leaving me mystified over what exactly is the exact schedule like.
