On HK island, 5B,5X, 23, 25,26 bring you from Wanchai to Sogo but 5B,5X is cheapest at HKD3.40[flat fare]
All because fares are based on the terminal to terminal distance and corresponding fare.
If I'm not wrong, 23, 25 (not so sure abt 26), they're the atas area plying buses.

you are correct on the 1st point...
23,25 are to ATAS area in causeway bay...
anyway their flat fare is still cheap compared to our distance based fare

Had the USD rate stayed it would have been a diff story.

I believe the community isn't that daft to tell who is the one being enclosed here.
Atleast I like them for who they are and live with it. Looky here if you don't like SMRT buses then don't ever set foot into SMRT terrains, and if you do make sure you drive. Period.

And then claim that it is a way of "increasing productivity"? And hence justify fare hike? They don't have the initiative.
Sorry.
Its the public that forced it down their throat. And their "initiative" sure took a long time to initiate.
Mechanically, I can't think of any bus that's alright besides the 0405s. The Lance? The 0405Gs? The Hinos? The OC500LE? **snorts**
The OCs on 858 are pretty decent... at least better than KUB on TPE
BUT THE MOMENT the OCs fall into 950, the OCs thurn from OCs to Oh Chao!!!

I'm pretty indifferent to just about any bus on TPE....as long as no jerking, no vibration, nice aircon.......its good enough.
The KUB is a pretty good fit if the BC knows its weak and strong points.....and less vibrations these days.
OC500LE also not bad.
But both buses have the rocking-horse effect.....something the B10Ms do not have, which makes them my favourite TPE SD.
Originally posted by Amir95express:old buses in both SBST and SMRT are gradually being replaced with new ones. be patient.
eh, the person who stomp this have no sense of nostagia when taking buses? never tought of what you always do in the bus when he is young?nostalgic right? stand on seats look other vehicle pass by...
