CW6: Gelang Patah/Bukit Indah – Boon Lay Int

New Causeway Link Cross-border service CW6 between Boon Lay and Gelang Patah/Bukit Indah via Second Link will be introduced from 17 Aug 2011.
Initial fleet size will be 6 operating only during peak hours, then increasing to 10 and operating during off-peak hours as well.
It was revealed that the daily ridership of CW3, CW3S, CW4 and CW4S is 4,000.

15 mins freq, x-fer at Tg Kupang.
Cos 8 buses, it means freq of 25 mins minimum if it does full route.

They've lost focus onto serving JB routes.

IDR may see a new operator which will start operations next year, CW's biggest threat yet. That new operator may also operate into Singapore, provided that it's lucrative enough and new licences being offered for operators.

IDR needs its proper public tpt plans.
That should keep the viable ones profitable.
I believe even HI is finding difficulty in maintaining its own domestic svs.

where is CW6 boarding berth @ boon lay int? is the bus loop inside the int or park there?

So many malaysia operators having operations over the causeway, when would our singapore bus operators do the same? Or they are not bothered and only let malaysia companies take over the whole operations of the causeway bus services?

don b suprise if next time more CW service serve woodlands, sembawang or yishun or other north-west part of SG.
or 1 day Causeway link become SG 3rd bus company. haha
i had send feedback to SMRT abt operating more bus service from yishun and sembawang and they said its not needed at the moment.. =_=

By right SMRT can introduced 1 cross border svc from Sembawang to Larkin IF RWS decided to terminate their bus svc contract with SMRT.The fleets from RWS8 can be utilised for it,951 anyone?

Boon Lay Way
For M'sian buses, entry level is low. Any case, even HI is lamenting that their local bus ops is not very sustainable as compared to CW1/ CW2/ CW3/ CW4/ CW5.
But seriously, CW5's loading is miserable.

LTA wun allow duplication of bus routes and in any case all the quotas are alrdy taken up. -

there is TS1/ TS8 and AC7 (singapore operators).... compare to CW5/CW6 (malaysia operators)... what else?

In an article by another paper, it was mentioned that CW6 will call at the bus stop near Boon Lay MRT Exit B.

8 licences were offered jointly by Singapore and Malaysia, to be equally given to operators from both sides.
4 licences from Singapore were awarded to:
- Regent Star Travel - Transtar Cross Border TS1
- Transtar Travel - Transtar Cross Border TS8
- Advance Coach - AC7
- Luxury Tours & Travel (yet to begin operations)
4 licences from Malaysia were awarded to Causeway Link/Handal Indah:- CW5 - JB to Newton Circus
- CW6 - Bukit Indah to Boon Lay
- JB - Marina Bay Sands (to begin operations before year's end)
- JB - Resorts World Sentosa (to begin operations before year's end)
Causeway Link is to develop a bus hub at Danga City Mall which will enable its passengers to hop from one CW service to the other CW services. -
The RWS route will be from Bt Indah via 2nd Link
The MBS route will be from Larkin

cross-border can be made more efficient if they allowed oprators from both countries to operate it and call at more stops on either side of the boreder.
