The only reliable,Fast Night Svc i can think of is NR2,NR3 & NR8..NR1 & NR6 ever since theyre extended to RWS the frequencies become crappier...Worst if the perm part time SL doesnt show up..NR5 SL like to play pang at JW area,Towards City they speed like mad then upon reaching JW they slow like cow..NR7 nowadays i see skip Geylang area and turn to Guillemard Rd then turn right to Geylang Rd and resume original routes,WTF!
Perhaps they should deleted some of the redundant routes and make it simple rather than loop one round to city towards home.Niteowls on the other hand is much simple,They should introduced 7N that start from Harbourfront to Bishan and Whampoa area.Only thing i dun like is the last bus time ie 0200am.They should at least extend it till 0300..NR 0430 last bus is also redundant.0400 is much better.Would you pay $4 if the last bus reach Orchard @ 0500?Might as well wait for the 1st train
Ok la. I like to aim the last NR sometimes. I don't mind taking bus back at 4 30am and then reaching home at 5+am. Saves me a little time and allow me to have a nice good breakfast near my place rather than in town.
But NR BCs seem to be the crappiest bunch of BCs also.
1. They invariably get the route wrong. I keep hearing complaints of NR turning into wrong street/road and even expressway! As for my own NR6, the BCs dont seem to realise that the bus-stop outside NEX is not actually served by them....hence the pax is sometimes bewildered when they press the bell before it turns towards Serangoon Central and the bus stops right away.
2. I've had BCs who drive.............................and nearly slept on the wheel.
3. And when they do stay awake, I had other BCs who drove like drunkards, refusing to keep to a single lane. On one occasion at Hougang, our dear BC happily let the bus drift into the next lane with a car next to it. The outraged car driver honked till everyone in the bus woke up.
4. Most astoundingly, you could actually have NRs bunching up. Even for NR1/6. I was very angry because I waited 1 hr like an idiot on one occasion and 2 NR6 turned up. Both then started racing each other which only served to make me wonder wtf is wrong with the schedule.
SMRT should seriously wake up their idea about their bus services.
Those NR SLs are mostly part timer who have their 1st job as technician, etc.I used to work part time as NR SL before joining full time and the payout is quite good too.Holiday eves bendies are driven by SMRT full time SLs.
given up on NRs. take Niteowl now.
heaviest loading? AM Peak 179A.

MERLION ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Less than 15 people
sv100 can be really packed along certain stretches of the route on certain times.

OH HO! i see, but on average, it is not as demanding as the other svc in CBD. probably serving plenty of serangoon residents back to their non-MRT homes after shopping at nex.

e major demand for sv100, in case u don't know, is between Aljunied MRT to Upp Aljunied Rd Residential area.
CBD side, on PM peak period, is about 3/4 full.
Harbourfront side also quite packed for 100.
But other than those areas, 100 seems pretty ok in general.
No one mentions the hopeless 72? I give up taking this to Hougang from Tampines. Taking MRT to Pasir Ris and then taking 88 is usually a wiser choice.

sorry i got typo error... it's PM, not AM

AIYO... HARBOURFRONT towards s'goon no one standing leh... weekday night somemore...
don't mention 72 PLEASE. it's obviously packed aand it's one of the few routes who does not reach tampines by expressway.
Seriously 72 needs to split up in routing.
quantify please?Originally posted by sbst275:Seriously 72 needs to split up in routing.
72 serves its purpose well for its full route. There's good reason why they merged 72 & 80 back then.
However, it would be great if they have a full DD fleet on Sundays/PH. The shocked look on passengers' faces in the queue at Tampines Int when a Scania KUB arrives is priceless.

use 'which', not 'who'.
72 needs feedering legs to help it
else really, all the neighbourhood feedering links makes waiting time erratic.

72 need a 72A from Yio Chu Kang to Serangoon North for Ang Mo Kio industrial workers during peak.

You read your own thread title more carefully.
I am only answering what you consider to be an obvious question.
So who's the one asking for it?

I agree with that.

But it seems the pax boarding at Tampines is mainly short haul as in they will disperse along TP Ave 9 right? I doubt many will ride beyond Hougang and from Hougang Ave 9 onwards, it's occupancy is more or less like 58 on non peak, NYP rush hours.
My comment is more on reference to weekend ridership. Weekdays peak no need say. I also experience B9 with upstairs standees.
