243W
the crowd seems to be never ending at Boon Lay Int
Think most of the svc is heavy during peak,What exactly we want to know is the average loading based on off peak too.190 siao siao,AM towards town endless one but back to CCK like nearly empty.PM peak is vice versa..Weekends also nuts,Sometimes Ah sohs and Ah peks occupied nearly half of the buses..969 also pax like cannot stop till night.AM side should deploy another 3 bendies..Drive this svc numerous time until i luan see non stop pax boarding the buses,Lucky if bendy.966 nowadays see more pax for both sides..187 freq is better but peak hour loading is horrible especially if rigid came one after another.176 another candidate..
243W the weak point is the distance,Not justified for DD as most pax only seat downstair.240 & 334 justified to have 2-3 DDs in their fleets.291 lucky now got DDs during peak.265/268 should have Split shift DDs too.
965 also needs bendies, but blame it on sengkang int's space constraints.
965 no need bendies actually,Just improve frequencies and add more buses during peak. Its different from 969,Its totally express from YIS to TAM.Bonus if you board WL buses.Point is SMRT management dunno how to play the cards.Feeders/Intratowns no need full bendies,Just look at SBST why their feeders/Intratown dont have full DDs?Route is short and pass by those bus stops with more svc to chose from. Its unlike trunk or express svc.Look at Svc 800 all 5 buses are bendies and look at the loads during 0920-1500hrs,Not even half full always the case,Can replace 1 bendy to 1 rigid. If they know to plan the frequencies svc like 903 wont face many overcrowding cases.222 another good examples,ITE hours if 1 SD packed next 6 mins will be DD.

I wonder is it due to the turning angle in Jurong West St 42 that prohibited 334 from using aircon DDs?

168?SIMILAR?

Sengkang Int do not have space constraints. 965 have used bendies before last year, where TIB1045Y, TIB1046U and TIB1166G cameoed on it.

What about 359? Does 359 have heavy pax on it?
857.
nowadays much betta wit AMK partial ctrl.
but the wkend loading is oso full wit indians leh... frequency got worst wen NDP, F1, Countdown, IT fair, deevapali, thaipusum.
I think 857 shld use bendies during AM/PM peak, although it use bendies sometimes during wkday.

so frequent still so crammed... and that's the route i am going to take in less than an hour to airport
Svc 27 is always very full during the period between 8PM to 9PM where there are no additional buses. Maybe SBST should consider using DDs for the additional buses or 27A as they do not need to go to the Airport(which means no height restriction).

more likely is the left turn from JW St 42 into Ave 1, remember many NAC DDs either mount kerb or had their rear tyres brushed against the kerb when turning
Service 240
966
238
57
59
187
188
190
180
how come 857 become worst during NDP?
857 loops at Raffles Hotel during NDP.
Only SBS buses enter Suntec/ Marina Centre/ Marina Bay (97 Jurong, 133 Shenton Way, 502).

NAC DD only 10.5m long,if they can brushed/mount kerb then the 12m SD also can what

Then the DDs might be doing crossovers on 27A.
Frankly 171 and 857 doesnt require 2 depot control.AMDEP can do it.167 WL can do it.852 can let KJ takes majority. If they are serious about improving frequencies then i can suggest that
171,857 sole AMDEP
167 WL/KJ,851 AM/KJ,855 AM/KJ,963 WL/KJ
RWS8 sole KJ
Marina Ctr,Shenton Way,Lor 1 Geylang,Eunos and other eastern part let AM run minority.I'm sure frequencies can be slightly improved. For BPJ its better that KJ run 176,177,180,184 and 975 only while WL run 75,700/A,920,922,970 and 971E.

I really dont see any problems with 857, at least SMRT bothered to push bendies on 857 after NDP to clear the crowds.
SBST on the other hand, did not even bother to put DDs on its more profitable express 502.
Imagine you are the passenger at the bus stop flagging down the bus after waiting for 15mins and yet this drives pass u without stopping.

Of course you dun see a problem because SMRT decided to run AWOL, away from e crowd and possible jam.
502 is profitable? 1/2 leg into CBD still close to empty.

Given a choice, im sure many of us here would walk to a bus stop with a bus that you can board, and not wait at a bus stop with buses that come, but you cant board.
Whats the use of driving into the crowd and into the jam just to ply stops inside suntec, but ur bus is totally full to the doors?
Who is to blame for 502's lack of pax? It's only a "express" bus for those living in jeast, but not jwest. For those living in jwest, 502 actually takes longer than the trains, and does not guarentee a seat either. There's just no reason why anyone would take 502 beyond jeast. And best of all, theres a price premium to pay.
If anyone wants to see how SBST vs SMRT fares in such situations, just look at the mess every year after new year celebrations.
Without fail its ALWAYS smrt that never fails to screw up. Hence for me its simple. Either I buy alcohol and drink till dawn or take 6N back. NR6 is hopeless. So are just about the rest of the Nightriders except for a couple of them that I wouldn't dream of taking.
My latest attempt to board the NR6 got lucky. The PRC BC tried with all his efforts to squeeeeeeeeeeze everyone into the rigid (where's the bendy?). It took 15 min. But everyone was glad he made the extra effort. But I won't dream of taking NR6 the next time.
And they had the cheek to raise the Nightrider fare for such crappy service.

When there's limited bus svs in the area and with higher demand, who's to blame?
There's a lot of things, e cause and effect is not tat straight forward.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I SAID IN DD FOR 163 THREAD!!!BINGO!!!:)
