Saw the new bus stop along Upp SGN being constructed. It seems really near to the filter lane that leads to Ave 1! Can foresee if buses were to exit the bus stop, cars that try to cut into the lane sure kana accident one.
Air-conditioned Serangoon bus interchange opens on Sept 3
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1149054/1/.html
Service 81 and 82 will not call at the new interchange.
Another case of 179/199 at BNL or will they be amending these 2 services ?
SBS website still not updated yet.... Why this time they so slow....
81, 82 will make a loop around Serangoon via Serangoon Central, Boundary Rd (Sgn stadium) and back to Upp Serangoon.
82 will be axed into 2 portions - 82 from Punggol to Boundary Road (Loop), new service 84 from Punggol to Punggol Road End (Loop).
100, 101, 103, 158, 317 will enter the interchange via Upp Serangoon Rd.
101, 103 & 317 will call at the new bus stop (Blk 416)
315 will be extended (via Upp Serangoon) and will call at Serangoon MRT bus stop now.
105 will enter the interchange directly via Serangoon Ave 2.
109 will ply Boundary Road and Serangoon Ave 2 and finally, to the interchange.
Posters are up at Serangoon Int, btw.
81, 82, 315 will keep the Town Centre link

Most probably due to the space constraints at the new interchange.
end of an era for Punggol Rd End

Thanks for the info
Looks like the new 84 is similar to 882 at Sembawang side. SBST should have introduce a feeder service and charge feeder fares instead.
81 is now becoming a Tampines - Serangoon loop service.
105 is expected to use this new route, however it is at a disadvantage due to a number of bus stops at Serangoon being cut.

SBSTransit and LTA have done it again! Am not happy about the amendment to Service 105.
Have registered my displeasure with SBS Transit over the customer service. Next I would write in to my MP, LTA, SBS Transit and to the press.
The amendment deprives commuters of connections (along Boundary Rd/Serangoon Avenue 2 to Toa Payoh and beyond). People would have to spend extra time waiting for two buses to make two connections/have to end up walking the extra distance to take the bus or catch the MRT/alternative route.
If anyone here wants to register their displeasure at this amendment, I strongly urge you to call SBS Transit and make your voice heard.

Why should the bus now make 1 big round just to get to the Int? Somemore it's alrdy a long distance route.
Now seriously, that's typical Singaporean. I dun even mind walking to the bus stop that's on the side road if none of the main road plying buses turns in.
It's like I've said, it's very irritating that trunk bus has to cater to everyone's within new town needs. Then we've feeders for what?

Because transport services are meant to be a public service good. They are supposed to serve the needs of the public.
Walking is fine for most able bodied Singaporeans, but what happens in rainy weather and thunderstorms, and extreme heat? Don't tell me you expect an elderly person to walk a long distance just to get an alternative service? If so, that's callous.
And your typical Singaporean comment, I find your words highly demeaning towards Singaporeans.
Feeders, hello, is there such a thing called feeder services nowadays? When was the last feeder service introduced that charges feeder fares?

Get this, I also have my demand, you've your demand, so now, how to balance everyone's need? Defintely bus - bus system is one way.
Elderly is another issue, but take a look at the usual Singaporeans behaviour. I surveyed Pioneer station for quite some time, even some thoughts turns out to be true.
It's not demeaning, for there's lots of unacceptable behaviour i.e. not moving to upper deck. Now you deprive others of a boarding chance, complain what? The world dun go around yourself, it evolves with everyone.
If I can walk under the hot sun, I've never complained knowing there's no way every single bus sv can suit me.
As for feeders, wasn't there 241? Furthermore, it's becoming clear as the new town develops further and how lopsided it is located for the BIs say Sengkang, feeder/ trunk concept would slowly kick in. Then what about the last MRT train?
Things dun stick with no new feeders or whatever forever, it's how it evolves for the better of everyone's overall travelling needs.
It's like, can affect anything but not me
Any case, for Sv 105's Boundary Rd loading. What I noticed is majority travels up to S'goon Ave 3, mostly bus - bus transfer.

i was hoping that one of 81 or 82 would be extended to cover the route, but apparently nice things like that never happen. maybe you can still suggest though.
Better hope 73 can pick up the slack from 105's deleted sector
Originally posted by supremebull:Better hope 73 can pick up the slack from 105's deleted sector
unlikely. 73 and 105 do not call at any common stops along 105's deleted route... definitely not something that our friend here will be happy about.
Lor Chuan widened stretch
Oh no......I would lose a direct bus to kovan....and a direct bus to punggol rd end.
That new bus stop is only meant for 101, 103 & 317

Same here for the latter :(
Would be better for 82 to start from/end at Pgl Rd End
