Hi,
does any1 heard of any upcoming CCL bus rationlization upon opening of CCL stage4/5 late 2011?
No idea known as yet
It's likely to see a round of bus sv freq adjustment first, likely with 92, 95, 200.
Pasir Panjang leg might help with the new Mapletree Biz City crowd.
As again, 7 mins, 3 carriage, how much can it help?
haha.. don knw.
anyway i predict the follow bus svc will be affected. (not accurate so don take it serious)
east sector: 22, 24, 43, 70, 70M, 76, 80
west sector: 91, 92, 95, 96,
city/ south sector: 10, 30, 30e, 61, 97, 97e, 100, 143, 145, 166, 188, 188E
whole sector: 93
I rather hope they make bus/CCL tansfer much easier. Many bus stops near CCL station were actually quite a distance away. Example those at Holland, Marymount and Tai Seng CCL.
And there is a time I am meeting someone at Marymount CCL, it was frustrate to note that there is only 2 bus services from Upper Thomson Road [outside ST Theresa Home], SBST 74 and SMRT 852.
SBST74 came, fully packed, some passengers alight, and shit the bus captain drove it away. As usual there is no sign of SMRT 852 after 12 min wait. Another near empty SBST74 arrive, and I board it and saw a packed SMRT852 trailing behind.
Seriously our bus/train transfers can be make pleasant. Frequency of SMRT buses was fairly bad.
wat to do
ask ppl to move in also tio complain, like tis also complain..
cos s'pore too small to handle a big population.. tat y everywhere is pack like sardine.. if u had been to JB its the opposite... =) so no pt unless s'pore stop asorbing ppl..
seriously not many bus svs are really packed like sardine, less 190 and gang.
Many a times it's seriously ppl not moving in, sometimes can take in 4 or 5 more ppl. Seems small, but usually it's abt 4 or 5 ppl left behind.
JB side ppl got car got motorbike, bus dun serve entire Taman.. how to take?

Are you serious? Many buses were packed like sardnes during morning peak hours. Try 72 before arriving at Houggang MRT.

Sometimes I'll point this out
The upper deck can end up w/ 10 empty seats
my meaning of pack like sardine mean the population, not meaning public tpt. sry for the misunderstanding...
BTW, is LTA owning all the bus services route now? Thought LTA is going to put up those bus services in batches for the bus companies to bid? It would be interesting to note which bus companies will be bidding and how much bid they will be putting on. It would be a nightmare if SMRT winning the bid.
LOL u shld b fair to SBS/SMRT.... imagine pte bus coy win the bid! I cant imagine
but the entry level is pretty high actually, if one starts to calculate.
It seems like alot of bus services along the Paya Lebar - Serangoon corridors had fleet cut ever since CCL 1 and 2 opened. Eg 24, 62, 80, 135(?), 158.
I believe that service 70 also had fleet cut too, don't seem to see buses like SBS933J around these days.
16 22 24 62 70 80 135 153 158. some cut bus straightaway while some convert from DD to SD, while others have a combination of both.Originally posted by SBS8675B:It seems like alot of bus services along the Paya Lebar - Serangoon corridors had fleet cut ever since CCL 1 and 2 opened. To summarize,
16: 1 MK3 out after route diversion.
22: SBS524G out.
24: SBS8688P out.
62: SBS997A and suspect more DDs out.
70: SBS9006B swop with SBS1986A from 58. SBS933J also out?
80: SBS863C replaced SBS9623U.
135: SBS8820Z out.
153: Some DDs replaced with MK3s/Striders.
158: SBS927C out.
Correct me if I am wrong or missed out anything, thanks.

SBS 5069X is still on SV70
And SBS927C is out of SV158; nt 138. typo error
9498 80 fleet reduction. 153 is cut 1/2 bus and convert 2 VO to 2 mk3. 22 got 1 DD left replaced with 1947. 62 long list. about 3/4 DDs out and 1 DD convert to SD. not sure if 24 suffered anymore fleet reduction other than 8688. but ya you got the gist. lazy to check my list haha.Originally posted by SBS8675B:

I believe that SBS855B should be the SD that recently went into service 62. Any idea which DDs are out?

Edited, thanks for the correction.
While several services along the Upp Paya Lebar corridor gets fleet cut due to CCL 1 and 2, service 43 gets fleet addition instead
Dun forget with 76 removed from the condo part of Marine Parade, it's left w/ 43 & 135 to carry the burden.
Works well is the Yio Chu Kang Rd corridor demand.
haha
paya ebar of course will be cut..
think those like 24 43 76 70 all will make a loop at serangoon interchange.. tts why they havent open the int yet.... need to make it a new burial ground for paya lebar corridor in october
nowadays boarding DDs on 70 seems more difficult than striking 4D... esp for 70M
then those HG ave 9, Fernvale ppl till die die alight at serangoon n spam 70/103 when they should go to their own town stations

Service 70M nowdays mainly operate as full SD fleet on Sundays/PH. There might be 1 DD operating on PM shift but it depends.
70M is culled by CCL alrdy.
Tat said, 70 still has supporters to Shenton Way.
