SMRTB should have another bus park for their city and eastern services. If they're talking about fuel saving then the space near Kallang there is ideal.Just lease a land which can accomodate 150 buses and maintenance facilities.Service like 167,851,188,855,963,RWS8,75,171,960,106,970 and 61 can park there. Its getting crazy to have most of AMDEP svc park at Yishun and Sembawang.AMDEP gone case,Bus Plus there ardy cause headache.
SBST also can consider Loyang for bus park to support some of Pasir Ris,Changi Village and Changi Airport svc thus can free some space at BNDEP.BNDEP can take over Eunos svc,64 and 11 too.BRBP should take over St Mikes.

I feel the GLBP should be used, SEDEP should give WLDEP some control of it, GLBP can be used to park svcs like 67,106,171 and 980. 67 for downroutes, 106 and 171 for starters in MCT, 980 for convienent reasons. 167 I can close 1 eye but overall I feel SMRT are being inflexible with this, the GLBP can use also don't want to use. 859 full day starters and splits and 167 full day starts and splits along with 980 (WLDEP) can park at SEDEP for convience's sake, and the GL ones can do it at GLDEP.

unless SMRT decides to expand GLBP's size , then i would consider SMRT using that bus park. coz currently i dont think they can hold so many buses in that limited space, furthermore there are SBST svcs like 175 11 that stopover there too . there are busplus buses + SMRT taxis + bus stop + carpark too .
(its either that or they should rearrange GLBP . its currently messy there.)

Ok. Even if GLBP is small, I believe it is not that small to the extent of not having some buses getting parked overnight?
67 (downroute blocks) 106 (Shenton way starts) and 980 (full day start/split) Should fit in just nice, or did I mis-calculate?
If I indeed miscalculate 67 has lots of downroute duty blocks, then 106 Shenton way starts and 980 full day and splits getting park there should fit in though.
Actually they can just park the buses there. The bus park is pretty huge...
There's enough space. Just that they arent parking them there.
SBST is good enough, no need anymore depots.
For SMRT, I feel that there should be one more depot at Ubi side, to benefit services like 61, 67, 854, 858, 966 and 969 which goes to the eastern side of Singapore...
Kallang is hot spot wor... the price of the land there will not be cheap
Kallang tat piece of land is macham t-lease one
as far as I know, it's slated for redevt

close ayer rajah and expand bndep (or consider depot at tamp ave 10 area). tilt arbp/bndep or bbdep/bndep services towards more of bndep control.
SMRTB:Ubi out of question,Jam prone area.If they renovate Lor 1 to mini bus park ie remove those dividers,Where will 11 and 175 terminate?Sims Place? If Kallang so exclusive then where is ideal?
SBST:Tampines Ave 10 also another candidate for bus park.Ayer Rajah should close and they need a bus park near Bt Merah or Commonwealth.

Why suggest closing ayer rajah bus depot? It's a bus depot anyway, what's more important is the accessibility to expressways and nearby bus terminals/ interchanges.Ayer Rajah bus depot is in close proximity to many terminals and interchanges in that region. What different would it make if it was relocated to Commonwealth or Bukit Merah?
BTW, what is BN depot? Bedok North depot?
isn't ARBP going to go off soon in the name of redevelopment?
Hmm need to venture Pasir Panjang or Commonwealth area for bus park

Ayer Rajah Bus Park should move to the nearby One North industrial park. The area is still one of the best areas for downroutes for West district services. Also it can be a mainstream depot to venture into new engine technologies like hybrid, biodiesel, CNG, etc, since the number of such companies are flourishing in the area. Another SBST bus park needed for JIS service, probably in Tuas. Braddell bus park probably can do a major revamp and multistorey bus park, bus maintenance area and mini bus assembly plant, together with a small skyscraper as the CDGE HQ.
Ayer Rajah Bus Park itself is already in one-north. And it is probably making way for one-north development.

If ARBP moves, Service 91 must move too :p

Probably areas like West Coast,Pasir Panjang or even Commonwealth is also feasible
Heard from a friend that Kranji will move to a new depot soon.Rumours saying that former Keat Hong Camp is the area while other say Bt Batok area..
