Here's a rough translation of the news.
"KMB has spent $108million to purchase a fleet of 60 Euro 5 low entry single decks. The buses which will progressively be delivered from this year on will be used to replace retiring single decks, and also be used to run on routes in N.T that has lower passenger demands.
Mr. Ho Chi-man, KMB’s Head of Depots states, some of the new buses have already started replacing retiring single decks on routes 53 and 276, which both are now served fully by single deck buses.
The new buses are more environmentally friendly. Compared to engines of the old single decks, the release of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides are reduced by 94% and 79% respectively. Fuel consumption when compared to a double deck bus is reduced by 40%. Each new bus cost $1.8millon, tens of thousands cheaper than a double deck bus, which helps to reduce our cost."
the bus companies still have to consult the MPs before they change the types of buses to deployed for each route.....
