This hopes to be more of an advisory to those who intend to enter JB on Saturdays via bus.
The situation at the JB Customs is not expected to improve the following weekend as it's likely there'll continue to see another group of 'new 1st visitors' following the biometric system in lieu of the school holidays. It might slightly improve as the M'sian school holidays has ended (12/06/11) though (but it's no point in the morining).
Reports indicated more Singaporean visitors into Malaysia this holiday, one likely reason is because of the weakened Ringgit.
The situation at Kranji MRT Stn was pretty bad as I observed yesterday afternoon. It's estimated to be some 400 - 500 passengers waiting at Kranji at any time. 170X is arriving at about 10 mins a bus.
CW2, CW5, SJE's frequency is pretty bad as well.
The buses can't be cleared fast as there are M'sian lorries using the CIQ facilities on Saturdays as well. The lorries are forming up all the way back to Mandai Rd junction.
I'll suggest to those who can avoid heading back to JB to avoid till the situation is much clearer.
Easier choice.
Just dont go there until after July unless you have urgent matters to visit JB.
If not, take the KTM.

KTM sv is pretty limited, many slot aren't suitable
I can summarise the advisory into just one word:
"Don't"
wah lao, i won't go malaysia until at least 3-4 months when the traffic congestion problems resolved... waiting 4 hours to pass custom is crazy, a waste of my precious time...
You wonder why they take your fingerprint when crossing the causeway, and 2nd link, but not if you take a plane there.
Any case (though from internet checks found it's not fully done), they've pasted some Nexcode sticker on the passport to avoid repeating fingerprinting procedure.
So those travelling in cars randomly not chosen to have their index fingerprint taken will not have that sticker, and thus might randomly get picked to have their index fingerprint taken the next time they pass customs?

Scooped from M'sian papers. Place it in point form.
- Those who has the fingerprint alrdy taken will have the passport pasted w/ nexcode sticker. But flip side is not everyone who ought to get has the nexcode. They would not need to do the fingerprinting again.
- Seems like some ppl was not asked to do fingerprinting, not too sure wat happened.
- MACS (pass thing) will not need the fingerprinting.

i share my experiences..
went on may 14 saturday:
reach woodlands at 11am. causeway was somewhat "smooth"
clear kastam at 1.30pm. (queue for 2hours)
Analysis: kids exams ended + past 2 weekends we have campaigning + GE.. many sinkies having the JB syndrome.. all one shot chiong JB on 14 may + commencement of the fingerprinting system
went again on 28 may saturday
reach woodlands about 10.30am. causeway was quite OK
clear kastam by 11.45am. (stuck in queue for 1 hour)
this time, picked the shorter queue (pick the queue also involves strategy)
was also the first day of kids holidays.. so sure have jam one..
tip: from kranji, take 178 to sheng shiong. dont wait for `160/170..all playng ninja.. freq is >10mins/bus. at woodlands, take CW.... save money or save time. you choose
return trip at night: take 170. CW buses have freq at 15-20mins

duiz, when big jam 178 equally erratic. I've ever waited 30 mins for 178 before.
Woodlands tat side take CW faster cos they bo chup you prev took CW1, CW2 or CW5 or walk in.
But tis Sat jam, CW equally ninja or even worst than 160 or 170.
Normal time only 8 - 10 buses for CW1 no driver layover, jam sure jialat jialat one.
Even on Fri, alrdy noticed CW5 freq is not even 15 - 20 mins, it was 35 - 45 mins
also managed to track how come the ninja bus issue appears..
pretty scary... Bas Tailang and Causeway Link are e culprits.
Here we go again...
Can't remember wat time
2x 170 alrdy dispatched from Ban San, still not a single CW2 appeared. I think Causeway Link expert in spamming and jamming up CIQ bus bay by 2 - 3 mins CW2 freq?
This morning had jam
CW2 is the troublemaker making long freq for 160 & 170 Tat's why M'sia public tpt not comprehensive.. Profitable spam, not profitable like CW5 dun bother
To note: The headways of this CW2 incident was as long as 40 mins .
