PIE sees 2 SBS buses collide, injuring passengers

  EIGHT bus passengers were sent to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) on Tuesday morning after the SBS bus they were in collided with another off-service SBS bus on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).

  It is understood that one of the buses crashed into the back of the bus in front of it near the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) exit.

  The off-service bus was headed to Boon Lay while the other - SBS Bus Service 5 - was on its way to Bukit Merah when the collision happened.

  The passengers complained of pains in their heads and backs, and were conveyed conscious to TTSH.

  The bus drivers escaped unhurt, and their buses were towed away from the scene of the accident about one and a half hours later.

  An SBS Transit spokesman apologised for the accident and said that they were in touch with the injured passengers.

  'Our immediate focus is the injured and our team was at the hospital rendering assistance where needed. Thankfully none of the passengers were seriously injured,' she said.

  i think the news reported wrongly or what, it may be off service to brbp as the accident is before CTE.

  wah suay la y must both the buses b good buses..I was really hoping that both the buses or at least 1 of the buses involved was a kub.. :'(

  From the picture, seems that the damge is not very serious.

  Hope that the buses will be repaired and get back to service soon.

  I hope no buses were involved in any accident to obstruct the daily operations instead.
