  As I am involved in the NDP 2011 transport, would like to start a topic to discuss the SMRT and Bus-Plus buses used for chartered services on Tuesday and Saturday rehersals.

  SMRT Buses has been involved eversince 2008. For 2010, they only could provide a few buses as they were busy chartering out for YOG Opening and Closing Ceremonies. For this year, i dun find this shocking. Unlike 2008, where SMRT chartered out Bendies for P5 children for NE Shows.

  SBST were last involved in 2008 with participant charter only. For 2010, it was WT/Comfort Delgro Bus joint-consoritum.

  Is it because that SBST don't provide charter bus services anymore since 2008?

  No wonder NDPs are getting boring nowadays and the country is heading to a bad turn these few years.   Such events should be left for private operators from now on where PTOs should focus on improving service standards and letting its resources rest and for checks and maintanances during down periods.

  Back to 2008, I am one of the P.5 student riding on the charter bandies going back to school! Still remember the driver drives the bus into the narrow drop-off point in the school and having a hard time reversing out :)

  Yes, these NDP buses will come from various pick-up points as well as some SAF units.

  From now till June, NDP 2011 weekend P & C rehersals are held at Nee Soon Camp. U can try spotting them along Upp Thomson Road.

  Well, I heard from the SMRT BCs that the Merc OC500LEs do not have a good braking system compared to the Merc 0405s.
