Distance fare gets attacked literally for fare hikes by WP. DBTF because what other fare structure/ adjustment can I think of?

Nationalising actually discounted those tat still own SBS shares since 1978. I think they're at least in their 50s alrdy. I think all their CDG & SBS500 shares are going to be wiped out.

i hope they would really suggest on having both SMRT and SBST to serve services that really need excellent frequency to prevent overcrowding eg. 190.

What's wrong with DBTF? I think this fare system is excellent and fair. Now I can just transfer buses to get right to my doorstep without incurring additional fares. Of course, we cannot have everything perfect as longer distance travel may cost more now. I've been to several countries and would say Singapore's DBTF is still the best. Ever tried in Melbourne travelling only 1 train/tram/bus stop and you got to pay a few dollars because its a zone system? -

I think bus - MRT - bus long haul dist might have easily cost $3 then

such comments from political candidates shows they have not done their homework and understand deep enough before talking and also shows their immaturity. How can we rely on such people to lead our country?

i would rather they get their facts right in other areas like manpower, immigration, housing and the economy. Transport can come behind, unless you feel transport is VERY important in your criteria. -

Having read the ST article (29 Apr 11) featuring PAP candidate Charles Chong and his team taking sv 155, I just feel its just a wayang and publicity stunt. At least for Raymond Lim previously, he was reported to make a surprise visit to the Bt Panjang bus-stop during morning peak to check it out himself of the situation and then travelled on one bus service. I can sense more sincereity from Raymond Lim instead. -
155's case is bit tricky to handle actually.
155's main demand area during off peak I guess is TPL's area instead n not Joo Chiat.
But prob w/ R. lim's BPJ visit is tat 960's off peak freq has never been addressed.

You should lodge complaint to LTA on the service lapse. If situation still remain unchanged, then its time to go and knock on your MP's door during the Meet the peoples session. If still no changes, then you decide whether they still deserve your vote the next round of elections. -
for one, 17 might have to go back to dual directional ops mode.
73 is having tis problem as well.
But tat said, it would compromise BC's break duration if it's not properly done up

Yesterday, Koh Choong Yong (WP for Sengkang West) brought out the issue on Sengkang West LRT as well as poor frequency for service 163.

For Sengkang West, from ops point of view there's sufficient capacity to go around and there's some constrain to add on.
The housing profile of Sengkang West makes it no pt to make peak hour servcice dual directional. Double carriaging the trains might be a better option for now (if there's enough to go around).
As for 163, I think WP would rather raise over 163A. Seriously 163's 15 mins freq is like it's overall route profile

Do u mean service 163M?Frankly speaking, I would think that service 163 should add in more full day shifts based on its perm fleet. Currently service 163 has 15 buses (including 1 bus for 163M), of which only 8 buses does full day.

Please check out madrid's zone system, london's Tfl cap and especially HK's bus fare.
you take CTB5X from Kennedy Town to Whitfield Rd only HKD3.40...
try to beat that...
