oh! i was just complaining abt the heat at the HG int while i was waiting for 27 on monday afternoon........ and then i asked me ah bu whether they will be changing it to a/c one, like TPY and AMK....... and the new Yishun one like tt..........

The PAP dropped in an election pamphlet this evening at my door, and in it they outlined a plan for rejuvenating Yishun Town Centre, which includes an air-conditioned transport hub. There were also concept art of the new town centre, with a new shopping mall and a bazaar place. The old blocks of flats surrounding the current interchange seems to have been gone.
It does seem like that they plan to do this within the next five years, so if the PAP is voted in here, expect a new bus interchange for Yishun soon.
I just wonder where the temporary interchange might be - the patch of open space beside Yishun 10, on the other side of Yishun Central 1 - looks like a likely place. The patch of land beside Yishun MRT station could be a better place to locate the temporary interchange though, in my opinion.
Interestingly, the concept art shows SBS Transit buses at the new Yishun Interchange. Imagine - SBS Transit taking over Yishun bus routes
