why can't it? the EDS can always be programmed before even registering the vehicle. programming of EDS can be done at anytime by the PTO. you are registering the vehicle, not the EDS. the EDS is only an accessory that comes with the bus.

Yah, in fact the vehicles already come with EDS programmed when it was in germany as seen in the press release.

Seems like there are quite a few differences between SMRT's production Citaro buses and SBS Transit's Citaro buses, besides the few obvious ones (different LED displays, etc.).
- Different position of the side left turn indicator blinker light
- W.A.B. logo difference, as pointed out earlier
- External front door opening button not visible on SBS Transit's version (could be in the same place as SMRT's demonstrator version)
- Different wheel rims
- Different wheelchair passenger call button position
- Something extra behind the exit door on SBS Transit's version
Another difference if you notice, both SMRT rear view mirror got yellow reflective sickers above the usual triangle warning stickers.
Cheers.
spotted 6003 6004 6005 inside amdep.
More were spotted last week in the dealer premises. About 15 of them.
Latest rego put up was SBS6013A.
Caught the EDS technicians doing testing on the EDS for all the buses, can see 105, 174, 502 and 564 on different buses. And there is something surprising for the EDS...

Actually some of the buses have regos fixed up, but not registered yet.
They are already fixed in Germany before imported to Singapore. Now they need to test the EDS in order to ensure that they are working and meeting expectations before they roll out in service. Need to test them and ensure all aspects of the bus is properly working, right? You would like them to be in service soon, won't you???
Oh. I don't know. Thank you for this information.

Probably they were redeployed to HGDEP from AMDEP and then redeployed back to AMDEP?

they were not redeployed to HGDEP. just that it was doing training and went inside HGDEP only..... 6000/6001/6003/6004/6005 all parked together inside AMDEP today...
AMDEP and Jurong Soon Lee deport always has Mercedes-Benz buses from 1980s to now. Look at the number of 405s both of them use to have. I hope the bus start to operate next month. But HGDEP and SLDEP has most of the DD Mercedes-Benz buses in the 80s. My guess first service to have a citaro operate will be a feeder bus service from AMK and maybe 105 from serangoon? since SBS cannot put DD on 105 this bus should be an answer.
The Citaros feels like the spritual successor of the O405s which are now mostly off the roads...=(

So where is SBS6002???
But I read in another thread that a SBST Citaro costs about SGD 315,000.
Looks pretty cheap for a bus, can buy a Mercedes Benz E class for that.
Is the Scania K230UB cheaper than this price???

dunno where is 6002. might be hiding in workshop... the bus are exempted from ARF which is around 100% of OMV value... that why it is cheaper than E class merc.. SMRT citaro are much cheaper that SBST's one. dunno why.. KUB same price as SBST Citaro...
