Looks identical to SMRTB's Citaros but maybe better?
They should buy Citaros instead of KUBs.

where do you want to paint red? on the glass?
Looks like how 9690A was painted when SBST came to being.
Since that didn't become the standard, likely that neither will this be.

Erm, at the front and sides which are currently white?
rear doors sliding or swing plug doors?
" Due to Singapore’s humid tropical climate, all of the vehicles are equipped with powerful air conditioners."
i hope it is :P ..
they look nice ..
Are those chromed rims?
Nice, looks much better than SMRT ones.
I suspect they use ALOCA rims with the rim guards similar to the F Cell bus as shown in the picture what I done before.
Hope they will get more to replace the Volvo B10Ms in future.
Citaro is rarely available in its chassis form. The integral body also brings about savings in terms of weight, so wiser to go with the default option of CBU.
Originally posted by SBS3688Y:Great. I’m a little surprised that SBST has this time round decided to get the bodywork assembled overseas before shipping here as complete built-up units. For this, I can expect to see a high standard of bodywork produced. Hopefully the superior bodywork can minimise or eliminate vibrations even in the long run, just like the old MBO405 buses.
All along, they bought the chassis from overseas and then assembled the buses locally to save costs. How come this time round they decided otherwise?
I can only think of 2 reasons for now.
1. SBST must be very interested in getting these buses and Mercedes Benz give them a very good price which is comparable to importing kits and assembling the buses locally. The package might include assembling, QC, testing and modification works all in Germany, which delivers high quality products to SBST itself. Moreover SBST is their biggest customer in Asia now. And I feel that Citaros are only imported as wholly built bus, so no kits exported for assembly.
2. Probably most of the assembly plants in Hougang and SC are filled with and busy with assembling the Wrights now and thus not much more assembly plants here to cater more needs to assemble more buses. So thus might as well get these Citaros fully built in Germany.

go read the K230 and Citaro press release and you will know how much each bus cost at the time of purchase ignoring inflation and other forex adjustments.
SBST order the base line which mean no fog lamp, audio controller(Which is not important) and even airbag?Just like the CKD Wright B9TLs.

It seems like 174/174e were the first few services to get these buses as perms.
