Rail stood at 473,044.. Likely NEL's ridership hit 400,000 le.
SMRT's 1,735,003 for MRT, bus's not out yet
Should get more double decks le
knn.. seems like all the 2.5 million people cram into one bus like that..
I suspect sbst works in the public transport industry.

I couldn't agree more on this.
At least 80% of the fleet should be double deckers in future.
yah, more double decks

1 DD cost 80% more than SD and higher operating cost.. no point running all service with DD, when the demand are not there during certain timing... look at sv161, all the trips going to WL from 7-8am are almost full. but the trips from WL departing 8-9am are 90% empty... demands are one way.... maybe SBST should consider introduce express trips from WL to CBD or some other places in the morning using Sv161 DDs...

bus capacity are planned according to peak hours
I think there was feedback for mini buses long ago claming off peak demand is low.
He got a point there,Think 55% DDs-45% SDs for SBST is enough.SMRT could do 70% SDs 30% Bendies..Unless they take in DDs.As for JIS 252 can cope with 2 MKIVs and 5 VO3Xs
another side is w/ shortage of manpower, solving peak hr loading becomes another issue.
Shouldn't just look at the loads now, but should also plan for the loads for the next 10 years, unless Singapore population decides to stop at 5 million from now onwards.

What is the need for this thread for?
April figure
SBS: 2,529,607 (Bus). Rail: 473,819 (NEL accounted for some 416,000 based on recent ZB article). Total: 3.003m!
SMRT: 899,267 (Bus). Rail: 1,713,816 (Incl CCL & BPLRT). Total 2.613m
The figures show 1 thing
SBS has pwned SMRT in rail ridership in mileage terms. Still remembered wat SPH said abt NEL
SMRTB is carrying more pax per bus. SMRT is carrying 1000 pax per bus, SBS's is abt 850. Nothing new w/ the squeeze on 190, 700 & 960.
