This double deck bus was the first double deck bus to run on Singapore roads. Though the model presented is not having the exact livery and registration plate number, body not tropically modified, but the model and body work is the same.
In October 1953, this double deck bus from the fleet of the General Transport Company, Kuala Lumpur (GTC, KL), was sent to Singapore on demonstration. Its No. 52 in GTC fleet registered as BA 6421 in KL. It was used for 2 weeks in Singapore Traction Company (STC) service and for the 1st week it ran on Service 18, plying Finlayson Green to Tampines, and for the 2nd week, it was plying on STC's most frequent motor-bus service 10, Moulmein Road to Neil Road.__________________________

What's up?
look at the service number 10 and 18 since 1953, already need DD bus to provide service. And also the distance was not far from the present service only for 10 to extend to the east and west area and 18 to shorten to service only east area.
look at the picture it seeem like if the bus companies at that time start to DD bus singapore will be Hong Kong. history might change. only thing was that the companies think the bus is not for the road during that time.

Hmmm... pretty interesting find on the history of bus routes and how they evolved for the past 50 years. But why 18 got shorten and by so much???
