I noticed that more and more people are going to JB via this route;
W'lands Ctr Road (by any bus or taxi) > W'lands Train Chkpt > W'lands Chkpt (walk via linkbridge) > 160/170/170X/950 > JB Chkpt (via Causeway) > City Square (JB Sentral via walking)
Going back;
Walk to JB Chkpt (via JB Sentral) > JB Chkpt > W'lands Chkpt (via 160/170/170X/950) > END JOURNEY
Instead of 160/170/950 terminating at Kotaraya II. Ter., why not they LOOP? Some may loop at JB Chkpt, while others may loop at Kotaraya II. Ter (as some passengers wants to go to Plaza Kotaraya)?
The issue is the buses need a place to layover.
Route 160 is neither long nor short. 170X mostly goes to Larkin these days.
BC also need a place to go toilet as well.
Furthermore ppl from Jln Wong Ah Fook (Esp from Western side of JB) can walk to Kota Raya to board the bus if they want to.

If u even been to Kotaraya II. Ter., less than 5 or none board from there. People always board at JB CIQ. If 950 SL need go toilet, compare with BCs from 174, 190. Runtime so long then they also can tahan their bladderÂ
Whether they can loop at JB CIQ depends on Malaysian authorities. Anyway, these services do terminate at Kota Raya II Terminal.

In the AM peak, the run time on the Causeway into SIN itself is 30 mins.
Tat's only possible because both sides has a bigger CIQ now.
5 people or even lesser are still commuters.
Esp for 160, the entire loop could be as long as 150 mins during peak hours.

FYI, There is actually SV170X and one or two SV160 loop @ JB CIQ after the bus past the JB custom.
Seen before SV170X, instead of ferry ppl twrds Kota, it U-turn back to SG.
* There's a U-turn after the boarding area twrds M'sia (within the custom)

ad hoc, not fixed
But it's still less compared to those heading to Larkin or Kota Raya II
Those 160 trips I've been suspecting something else.
If anyone realise how erratic 160 SIN bound is would understand what I meant.
Come to e movement pattern.
There's some commuters who would take 170 > Woodlands Centre and walk over to CIQ 1st. But usually they'll end up paying a new trip of 71c across the Causeway unless they lucky to take 160 or queue for 950.
The movement pattern think triggers why Wooldands Centre is designated as another bus hub riao.
One way to resolve this movement is to improve 160's headways la. I think any improvement onto 160's dispatch would help.
