What buses replaced the double-deckers? The Volvo B10M Mark II?
Originally posted by iveco:Meanwhile 107 was extended to HGN from SER to make up for the loss of 97 and 82 and provide a direct connection between HGN and Shenton Way/Suntec.
I suspect the buses from 82 went over to 107 and vice versa.
What double-decks did the 82 use at first? Is it Leyland Olympian 2-axle (The 10.4m Double-Decks)?

Services 81, 82 and 103 were among those services that were cutoff from CBD areas to terminate at Serangoon interchange in order to reduce duplication with the NEL.
Service 81 did use double-decks after the NEL Rationalisation.
What about 103? Did it use any double-decks in SBS before?

I remember when I was in secondary between 1990 till 1994, svc 240 used LO2 with rego 6951, 7130, 7131....

No. The Leyland Olympian 2-axle is deployed to most services in the Jurong area.
LO2x was everywhere until late 1990s.
103 used to have LA till Tibs hto.
I dun think e VO3x on 82 disappeared immedately aft NEL commencement, 82 in fact had pretty good freq until it was rationalised.

And 136 had LO2X into the early 2000s.
Soon after 136 lost the LO2X, in the NE region, it was 165 next that lost the 0305s and the VO2X, while 74 held on to its 0305s till they were scrapped.
That's what I can remember.

Yah
I remembered 154 as well.
74, 154 had lots of DDs back then. Come to think of it, most SBS svs tat could have DD, SBS tried to dispatch as many DD as far as possible
Service 81:
ADDs were continued to be deployed by BNDEP even though route cutback to Serangoon after NEL rationalisation.
Service 82:
ADDs continued to be deployed after NEL opened. After cutback to Serangoon, the whole fleet changed. As Serangoon routes was under AMDEP in the past, 82 went under AMDEP with Merc 0405s and Scania N113CRBs (OAC/CAC). Went back HGDEP once again in Sept 2004 when Serangoon came under HGDEP, fleet changed to Volvo MK2s.
Service 103:
Used to have LAs in the past before Tibs takeover in 1995. However after returned to SBS in 1999, DDs never appear on 103 again but with full Merc 0405 fleets.

136 had LAs from what I can remember.
The last 0305s from HGDEP were withdrawn from the fleet exactly when the 20 new Dennis Tridants rolled into service in 2001. Service 165 continued to have VO2x until the NEL rationalisation in 2003.

What are the 20 Dennis Tridents and the 50 Volvo B10TLs meant to replace when they were registered back then???

You forgot 70 as well, it also has the last of the few O305s before they scrapped.

Wow! 103 did use double-decks before.
So, it is Volvo Olympian 3-axle that plied on 82 before. Which batch serve service 82? How many did 82 use and what are the Volvo Olympian perms on 82 registered.

I think it's to replace either Mercedes-Benz O305s or Leyland Altanteans.

They have been since the O305s are left and I think they are still using a few now.
Anyway, is 74 fully air con already???
And also 179 and 199, are they fully air con too???

74 is FAC.
Excluding crossovers,179 is FAC.
199 is FAC. It's even WAB.

Yeah, 74 is FAC already.
I believe, the last of the long-distance routes along with 93.
Anyway that 74 had VO2X is no biggie. Many services had the VO2X when it was still considered to be comfy to the masses. That even included 18 as someone pointed out earlier. I used to enjoy taking 18 and sitting on the upper deck looking at Bedok Reservoir.

which time period are you talking about 179?
If current period, its PAC.
179 is PAC la. The VO2x are perm 179/ 179A.
Last time SBS provided DDs as far as they could. Back then NAC boleh, seats aplenty

18??? I think that was in the early years of their services.
Think before SBS became SBST in 2001, only a handful of services like 74, 93, 154, some feeder services and JIS services used the VO2xes.

before the CBD aircon fleet.
I remembered VO2x was for CBD svs. Later on, they were given to feeders and routes like 107.

Actually, not many VO2x on the city services also, since there were also many non aircon double deckers that time. I only remembered 7, 10, 14, 65, 61, 190 using VO2xes when new.
Still remembered that a new VO2x crashed into a tree in 1995 on service 14 along Jalan Bukit Merah. The first and worst VO2x accident, but I forgot the rego.
