I was thinking may b the amk depot ter n yck ter shld merge wit amk int to better rationalize the amk bus routes..
i think better leave as it is currently. Just like many other new AC bus interchanges, there are not enough spaces at the new AMK interchange to accomodate these additional routes. Also, some spaces need to be reserved at the int for any new routes if needed. Its good that a couple of routes terminate inside AMDEP as it help relieve some space at the nearby bus int/ter. Spreading out some routes can also help to avoid wasted route extension, duplication and detour and wasting diesel, time and resources.
what for merge?
Yio chu kang is the only terminal which is functioning as a interchange, with NYP, and the MRT throwing out so many people every hour.. it helps to divert crowd from AMK
all YCK services serves different areas except 162 and maybe 76

162 provides a direct link to Orchard Road for Ang Mo Kio residents.
76 is still a useful service for most Ang Mo Kio residents.
This is really one of the worst suggestions.
Yio Chu Kang terminal and Ang Mo Kio interchange serve different crowds of commuters for different place.
Yio Chu Kang terminal has been there since 1987 serving the residents in Ang Mo Kio North, then Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2 and after that NYP crowds. It has successfully served as a main transfer point for many commuters to these areas and helps to divert crowds away from Ang Mo Kio interchange.
Moreover the new Ang Mo Kio interchange cannot take in all the services since there is not enough places. And now the interchange is already crowded enough.
Starting from Ang Mo Kio depot is already a thing from the 1980s since service 263 (now 268), and there is nothing wrong with that.
why don't you merge jurong east and boon lay together?
825 would then have to be extended to Ang Mo Kio. Nothing bad but I've been thinking of feeder links from Springleaf Estate all these while.
Sv 76 would then have to start from AMDEP, ppl heading to Ave 4 might lament need to cross overhead bridge at AMK or walk to Ave 9 for 76 & 268.
Sv 13 & 162 would not be able to serve AMK North residents
Your suggestion tells me you want to wait 30 minutes to get in and out of AMK interchange.
The current AMK Interchange is already so full, and filled with jams when there are too many buses in the interchange already. Merger would create chaos, rather than convenience.

why not we merge tampines, pasir ris & bedok interchanges together? have the interchange at simei then.
wouldn't it be more convenient?
just have 5 interchanges in singapore. West, East, North, NorthEast, City.

No need. Just build 2 mega interchanges.
Build depot cum bus interchange.
1 in Tuas, 1 in Changi.
All bus services start from East/West, ends in West/East.
For North, buses also start from East, goes North then heads West.

Then everyone has to use Service 11 or 280 already.

Some mode of transport that shows a 280 upon boarding and the number will just seem to jump non stop while the vehicle is in motion.
