A question I always wanted to ask: when it comes to publishing bus pictures, which do you prefer,
Different people have different standard
i know everyone waiting for 1 March 12am to post picture of Wright on Service 95 today...............................................
no 2 persons are alike..
as the saying goes "one man meat is another man poison"..
for me, I'd go for quality (e.g clear & not blurred & nothing is blocking the bus)..
depends if you are risk adverse or non-risk adverse.
if you are non-risk adverse you tend to borrow more and your portfolio will lie on the right of the efficient frontier, and vice versa.

Are you also gonna tell me that my marginal utility diminishes as I take more photos if I'm risk-averse?
Of cos its quality...

you forget to say that your returns will be increased through borrowing...
I feel that it is the passion to post pictures of bus and share our passion with others that counts. It is not like this is a photography fan club or what...
A picture speaks a thousand words.
And behind every picture, is a story a photographer wanting to share.
It's okay to give constructive comments at times, or even advise. But critisizing people to take photos of a certain standard is abit too much.
Everyone has their own way of interpreting the picture. It's up to them, of course to take it, as how they want it to be.
Quality wise, if the photographer is happy, the other people should share the happiness with the photographer. He is the one who took the picture, so, he decide how is the quality like.
off-topic a little bit here...
and for goodness sake, if you wanna grab other pple photos plz have the common courtesy to ask the owner of that particular photo & don't just right click save then later claim its yours..
by asking will you lose your money, no right?..

Thanks for all the input, everyone! :D
If there is a picture of historical importance, to cite some examples pictures of buses on 103M, and it was of reasonable quality, with maybe minor flaws like a car blocking a portion of it, would you still publish it, considering that such a picture is a snapshot of a certain time in the past, and that it is no longer found today?

It's great to see such a thread around to address this issue. (:
And as what you have mentioned (in the quote), if it blocks almost half of the bus, I think it's best to avoid posting such pictures as there is defintely room for improvement, and besides, someone may have a better shot of it anyway. But mentioning all these, it's still up to the photographer as to how the photograph conveys the message across.

not for me though..
I came across a quote from another forum (It's an UK-based openBVE community. The user said that if you have a large album of images, most are bad save for a few good ones, people will pick more on the bad images than they do for the good ones. Hence, he rather upload just 2 or 3 quality images, than an entire album of photos.
Have to say I agree with it, which is why I stopped dumping albums of images online, instead focusing on the quality images, cropping, enhancing, and watermarking them.
Is it a general opinion that what I say above is true? Anyone who disagrees? :)
(I'm not trying to, nor do I have the intention of, trying to start a war with this question... I just want a healthy discussion...)
Everyone have their own "suitable" style of taking a photo, as long as it isn't blur, or just show part of it...
But to think of it, it's true. I myself stopped uploading photos into some photo-sharing sites but instead, keep it in my own personal desktop folder.
Also, if that person was to actually pay attention at his pictures and take feedbacks about his pictures and work on improving his photography skills, he will see how he has developed over time.
He may suck at taking photos at first, but over time, he will end up taking photos that a professional photographer takes. You don't need to own a DSLR to take quality photos. A simple digital camera is already good enough. Just makeado with the settings there.
People pick at the bad ones because they know that the person can take better pictures than that. And hence, they should guide that person, instead of shooting that person down with a gun. Caring is sharing and sharing is caring. Sharing knowledge is something that is free (don't talk about school or tuitions, that's a different story altogether.)
Talk is cheap. It's better that they prove it with their actions.
Just my 2cents worth :)
