I went into doing 178's scheduling together w/ 160's.
These 2 svs badly needs a fleet and scheduling adjustment boost.

I don't really have a problem with the WL last car clocking in for the break time for the moment, but holidays schedule that one really must improve and time to change the fleets deploying old buses doesn't seem to really work well.
All the SMRT buses are just plainly rushing along Woodlands Rd
Originally posted by SMB66X:912 have it's worst fleet yesterday, 9 April 2011, from 1pm to 2pm. First, 3 bendy bunched up(TIB1185B, TIB1143Y, TIB1129P). Due to that, 3-4 normal freq bus, about 20mins, was left, causing a big gap to the next bunch. Around 1:39pm, another 2 bendy bunched up again(TIB1000B & TIB1179U).
the sv912 bendy are alway bunched up.... can always see 3 bendy waiting to turn into interchange or 3 bendy outside woodland civic centre going to checkpoint....
Originally posted by TIB 781 L:If I remember correctly at night it was 5 minutes, When I took it late afternoon straight from BNL it was like 10 min+, but 584 somewhat caught up with 1255 at KJ at about 6 and was surprised when I saw 1255H infront, at night 1255 is scheduled to start at 2146, and 584 starting at 2200, and this time also caught up with 1255.
basically it is just the 584 SL fault, who catch up with the front bus.... SMRT does not bother so much about this Sv178.... no matter what schedule they amend for sv178, there will still be issue...if the SL does not want to follow the schedule..

Nope, the schedule is just right for 584P, but somehow it caught up and 1255H was late by then. I won't go further.

do you know the checkpoints and schedule? Instead of following blindly, figure whether is it just nice or too tight (that means if every bus stop has ppl flagging for bus tat kind of situation).
Like I've mentioned abt 960, it can be 10 mins early in the early leg but ends up lambat 8 mins at e end.
When I did my own scheduling, I always remind myself give more time in case that trip suay suay has lots of boarding/ alighting along the way at those bus stops w/ commuters such as Woodlands Rd (Yew Tee, Sg Kadut).

The load I hardly track but should not be alot atmost about 30 inclusive the ones at KJ but the drivers should have enough time to rest and start for the next trip.
I'm not biased but some Chinaman BCs ought to be taught safety and patience.I was driving on a 2 way lane when suddenly this DD change lane without even signalling forcing me to jam brake.Lucky my 3 years old son who was sitting in the 3rd row of my MPV wearing seat belt..Bloody Hell.Straight away i scold that Chinaman and not even an apology,Bloody arrogant!
178 should just terminate at Jurong East and let SBST introduced new sv from JE looping at BNL using 178 routes..14 buses for such a long journey is a joke..61 should skip Ubi Area also..

Cannot. Later the coporation road people + the students complain.

If the freq. is slow, they will complain also..

Yeah lah but that runtime now is about 15-20 minutes with bad weather making it worse.
My prelim scheduling w/o diff travelling time during peak hours is formed by 14 A/ 14 P, 4 S shifts lineup.
It's still giving me 15 mins headways during mealbreak (late PM peak slot).
Actually what I feel is that 178 connects all the lower demand corridor w/o bothering to meet 10 mins freq QoS
TIB1142A (WL 960/913E*) was just fitted with a "Doors moving area" sticker at the entrance.

TIB523R was used for the trial when it was 965 perm.
Taken early last yr on 961.
34 evening downroute off service to Tampines Stadium route...
TPE > Tampines Ave 12 > (follow service 15) > right turn to Ave 5 to commence revenue service.
Originally posted by carbikebus:Heard some rumours from 2 SLs that either 171 or 857 will be extended to Sembawang in June..Wonder if its true
I hope this is true. Either route could be great, though I could prefer route 857 to be extended over route 171; I could use this route to get directly to the Sugnei Road Flea Market, Singapore Arts Museum, and Suntec City without using the MRT and having to transfer from MRT to bus or an MRT-to-MRT transfer.
If they extend route 171, it might end up skipping Yishun Avenue 5, unless they plan to have it extended via Yishun Avenue 2...
Friday are still the worst days to wait for 170 red plate. 40 mins headways is common
Found on TIB1187X
