SBS505L have its ad removed and repainted..... does not look like an old bus at all. lifespan ending 1st April and yet AMDEP go and repaint it? high change the merc might get a few more months extension due to shortage of SD?

Observed 178 today and finally got an answer to the 'weird schedule'.
That schedule is similar to Sundays schedule, with TIB639R and TIB654X serving out as 2nd and last car respectively.

It will be a good news if it is true. I prefer 171 than 857. 171 can connect sembawang residents to bukit panjang area.

179A freq could now be 12 mins during AM peak hours. So what's e point of having semi express sv? Now I see ppl switching to take 179, if it's packed from BNL it literal becomes 179A to NTU. I pity those ppl waiting at St 91.
I noticed like 6 - 7 ppl standing on the staircase. If ppl need to alight before e acad bus stops, how to alight fast? Every single trip.
Even now I observed the travelling time of 179A is much longer than taking 179.
Ends up by not dispatching the buses, 179's 2 mins freq bet 0930 - 1030 is now 6 - 10 mins per bus. Sometimes 200 - 300 ppl queueing at BNL cos some of the 179A buses are supposed to do 1 more 179 trip duty. These buses ends up no show.
Noon time 179 freq can be 12 mins.
SLBP is screwing the entire ops of 179. I think only 75% trips are operated these days.

As SLBP dun interfere w/ 199's dispatch, it's even more predictable than 179A.
I think they love to make ppl stand on staircase right, why dun they make it for 241A since all would alight at Pioneer har . 1 min freq for 241 is seriously overkill with only 80 HDB blocks. Like this 291 should get ADDs le.

The way the timekeeper dispatch 179A is really epic. VO2x also wait till a ADD load to dispatch, end up e leftover crowd gotta wait like 12 (for the next bus) + 5 (Alrdy waited) mins for a 179A. A simple 15 mins journey becomes 30 - 35 mins.
I think I know how come BNL parking got jam riao, timekeeper refuse to dispatch e buses end up got buses in, no bus out

but well, what to do..... take 179A also stuck at Pioneer MRT because only one lane passable thanks to picking up of workers there.... in the end same same as taking 179.
& if your class is at 9.30am and you think you can board 179A at 9.10am to reach school on time... you'll be wrong. because all the 179As are stuck at Pioneer Rd Nth turning left and none in the bus bays.

179 gotta stop along Pioneer Rd Nth en-route into NTU, so it's slightly faster.

yeah.... i was stuck along jurong west st 63 traffic lights with a 179 beside us all along.. of coz, along pioneer rd nth, 179A faster...
alternative route? maybe need to pay basic-plus then it'll go elsewhere...

dun forget if turnaround time could be reduced, it makes more sense to schedule more trips for 179A instead.
I think right now is a chicken n egg prob, ppl think 179A queue too long so take 179 or rather take free bus (though w/ dist fare, the fare diff is seriously very very small).

if students staying as far as hougang/sengkang/punggol or me in tampines... 179/179A only few cents...
but really lah, i took 179A. the observation is that st63/st61 traffic junction and the jam along pioneer MRT... that, 179A need to avoid.
and 179A is really bo lang at 3.30pm..... only see like 5-10 passengers...

0730 - 0930 do 179A, aft which from I see BC's timesheet is 1x 179 trip (2 mins freq bet 0930 - 1030).
After 1500 - 2000 do 179 or 179A or 179B (South Spine ->> BNL)
I ever saw 242's ADD timesheet on a ride. AM order: 2x 242, 3x 179A, 1x 179 swing. PM peak: 1500 - 2000 Sv 242.
