SBS also got their UDs from 2002 serving the Indonesian Millitary.
Are you able to locate some images of Volvo Mark II in Batam?
They modified those Mercs O405 but no EDS... Did Thailand bought Volvo B10M Mk3?
Nice pictures, first time seeing the O405s going off road.
Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Seems like a lot of our buses end up overseas after serving their period here:
- SBS Transit's (then SBS) Volvo B57 to Ireland, where they became schoolbuses
- SBS Transit's two bendy buses, and Trans-Island's/CSS's Hispano-bodied DAF buses to New Zealand - the bendy buses are now used as schoolbuses
- SBS Transit's Volvo B10M MKII to Indonesia's Batam Island (if I remember correctly), now used as tourist buses?
- Several SBS-era double-decks to Hong Kong and China (with new doors fitted in China due to different driving sides there)
- And now, SBS Transit's MB O405 buses and a few of SMRT's Scania L113CRL ELBO buses to Thailand, to serve as citybuses in Bangkok
Did I miss anything?
- SBS Leyland National 2 demostrator sold to some western countries, painted all black.
- SBS Leyland Leopard demonstrator sold to UK
- SBS Volvo B10M Demo, SBS9C, sold to New Zealand in the late 1990s.
- SBS Dennis Dominator sold to Hong Kong in the late 1980s.
- SBS Leyland Atlanteans, bodied by Walter Alexander L type bodies, sold to Hong Kong CityBus in 1993
- SBS Leyland Atlanteans, bodied by Duple Metsec 2nd batch with more angular body design, sold to some China bus companies in the early 1990s
- SBS first batch Leyland Atlanteans, bodied by BACO, sold to some China bus companies in the early 1990s
- SBS first batch Leyland Atlanteans, bodied by Duple Metsec 1st batch with more rounded body design, was found in Hong Kong but status unknown..
- some SBS Volvo B10M MKIIs are sold to a Indonesia private bus company
I would like to ask too. Are some of the ex SBS Mercedes Benz OF1413 Soon Chows sold to some of our private bus operators in the 1990s and some of them got converted to air con buses???
National 2 is in Australia
The first batch of DM body Atlantean were transfer to China via Hong Kong.
SBS1836A in New Zealand
Also a pair of R type Atlantean went to Hong Kong, one scrapped, one entered service as a training bus but later scrapped

In Thailnad. Scania doesn't use for citybus.
Thailand does not use Scania for their urbanbuses. Corrected :)
Hmm.... ELBOs in Thailand ar? Are they going to the same bus company with yellow livery?

Yes, that's right!!! Scania in Thailand doesn't use for urbanbuses.
If ELBOes are modify, they will service same bus company.
In Thailand (Bangkok) many bus service companies are joining service with BMTA
Most companies buy/rent Chinese yellow bus : Dongfeng,Golden Dragon ,Sunlong,Hengtong,Yutong,Zhongtong,Youngman.
Some companies buy used bus from Sg. , Jp. It's cheap price half and half than buy new Chinese bus from factory.
It's price about 86,940 Sg.Dollars.for used bus and about 173,880 Sg.Dollars for new Chinese bus from factory.
in my pic here bus route 538 is Which one company.
bus route 167 is Which one company
bus route 545 is Which one company
different company but same buses!!!
Yesterday,I went to garage and didn't find ELBOes outside here
I found 2 buses.the left urr...rear window is small.It's not beautyful.
I repainted this pic myself and comparative top and down pics.
Phong and Phong_ae is same person!!!

Thats the standard VÖV-II front for Mercedes Benz O.405s and MAN SL202s for Germany. Very few places had buses deviated from that design, Singapore was one of them.

Wow, that's a cool find. Why is it painted all black??? Is it still there???
Maybe SBS should have kept it that time, else it would have gloriously scrapped here in the 1990s.
