wow!!! I am surprise to see ex sbs bus alive. Hope can find volvo B10M MARK 1 & 2 & Scania N113CRB somewhere in other countries. I miss those bus.

. So the "karung guni" sliced those merc into base aka engine, roof aka aircon and at Thai reassemble into this state la. The standee is fitted with horizontal bench and they add CURTAINS (or blind) seh.... so zzzzaai and 
for our weather here. Done a great deal in the grooming cos it's their "new" stocks like OCs in here today.Don't know how much the bus fares are over there, or if any of them changed into a howling gearbox like Voith?

Wonder why they CUT the roofs. LOL the DM bus r in bad condition in thailand! I thik I will take my LAST DM O405 ride bef I bid farewell to them. T_T

I wonder these Mercs are in Bangkok or somewhere else in Thailand. Its good to know that these buses are put into further service elsewhere. They are definitely fantastic solid buses(German chassis with British bodywork), great reliability, comfy suspension and a good dose of acceleration. I still miss them alot, trying to adore the K230UBs for the past 2 years but i can't find anything 'likeable' about the damn bus. Anyway, im sure they will be able to cope well with the conditions in Thailand. After an exhaustive 17 years on the road in SG, its going to go on serving the Thai public for the foreseeable future.

Actually it is not a mismatch.Most likely they are just reshaping the wheel arches to be more angular. Just look at the driver side window, it is still a DM design.
But good to see that these workhorses are now having a new life somewhere. Almost 20 years in Singapore and supose another 10 years there. That will almost be as old as the Leyland Atlanteans in UK.

The DM OAC and CAC now have angular wheel arches. I think the Thai operators reshaped it while undergoing refurbishment

from the way it was shipped, look like the roof was cut off to fit into a container. also from the photos, it seems that the engines are removed during shipping and were installed back in thailand.
i feel the O405 looks good in yellow livery!

Well, i assume so. AFAIK, the speed limit for heavy vehicles in Thailand is higher than 60km/h.

not true.. 323/342 did get lifespan extension. it was gone only early this year...

I think the K230UB is beautiful.Because it still gets its job done nonetheless. What more you want?
Anyway with the W3E, the 0405 is limited to 85 at the very very very most. Simply by extrapoliating the rpm.
