Ok lor... All Svs 187, 960, 961, 963, 966 will only call WDL Int. Next stop is Kranji or Bt Panjang Rd/ Blk 270.
And yes 270 will be the only stop before heading to Hillview or Toa Payoh.
Wait till u grow old will you weep in tears on tis comment.

Walk only? Why not run, so that you reach the destination faster than those who take the bus.

The question is who would want to (run) under this kind of weather conditions?
Much as I am fast, I know my limits well.
I just found out that NUS is just 15km away in straight-line distance from where I live (Hougang), should I walk to there everyday?
Hmmmm

The real question is who will want to walk 2km under the sun? Yes, you can but do think about others as well.

then it defeats e purpose of public tpt accessibility
Tampines: 291, 293
Pasir Ris: 354, 358, 359
Additionally, in the eastern areas, Svc 17, 18 & 38 are popular services as it provides inter-town connections between Bedok, Tampines & Pasir Ris.
(NB: Only 17 serve Pasir Ris)
401 is also popular on weekends, as there is already a connection to East Coast Park for some teenagers who wanted to spend a day there.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For NSman under camps at the Tuas / Upp Jurong areas as well as foreign / local workers who works at Tuas area:
182 / 193 are very popular to them.
Other than that: 255 is always packed in the early AM Peak.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For NTU students, Service 179/179A is the most popular service. 179A received the highest volume of passengers in the PM Peak service.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for Jurong West, 99 & 241 are the most popular ones, especially during school terms.

It's 2km you know (based on the Woodlands example). Not 200m.
And people want to reach their destination fast, not like you can slowly walk there.
if anyone still remembered e news for BNL Int shift, it's noted the avg ridership per sv for 179, 179A & 199 is abt 10,000.
it's pretty obvious how much 179A is carrying a day, knowing 199's ridership level.
192, 193, 255, 257 are oftenly packed aft Pioneer.
seriously...
tat day seeing things at Pioneer.... could see packed 179A chionging to NTU... While 241A is practically empty ADD.
ADD downstair packed at staircase, entrance area... upper deck and rear is empty one.
241's ridership like tis can't stand w/ 179A seriously.
If in terms of ridership, there are a few factors the service must qualify in order for it to have good ridership figures. I believe this is a good yardstick too.
1. Able to sustain healthy WEEKEND ridership. As most of us here know, ridership normally takes a dip on weekends and therefore the buses allocated to the service is also reduced. The ability to satisfy this is key to getting high ridership figures.
2. Long route + high boarding and alighting activities. The system counts that if you board and alight the first time, then take the same service board and alight is counted as 2 pax ridership. So logically the more ppl board, the more ppl alight, the more stops you call at = good ridership.
Using the 2 factors above, this is my conclusion for services with good ridership figures - only basic trunk services.
14 31 51 61 65 67 88 143 147 851 980
and one more thing.. the services has to have the ability to capture school crowd, working crowd, and weekend crowd in order to have good ridership figures. :)

Hmm i can (agree and disagree) with you. Look at peak Period. I think both match during that time. But during other time. What you say is correct. Top almost emtpy.
I can see bus 27 just keep coming and going from Hougang to Changi Airport.Service is fast and popular even in off peak hr.

it's easy to get 179A to be packed, there's at least 3 TI deployed to 179A queue line every morning..
can't be said for 241.. ppl dun move up or to e rear it's difficult

179A is indeed easily packed but appears only in the AM peak and PM peak. For lunch time and sch dismissal yes. But if look at the saturdays and sundays when the majority using this service are the residents along Pioneer. Most of them flood the lower deck and most prefer svc 241.
241A had efficiently cater the large crowd in the AM peak and reduce the time to get to the int and back to JW St 9X(Jam at JW St 9X). If u were to observe crowd at Pioneer Rd nth for svc 241A or 241, the upper deck is covered with more than 75-85%.
Not to talk abt the crowd in the weekends, crowd from CHC can mess up the schedule. Moving up or what is the BC job ba, but if pax refused to do so they also can't do anything.
Recently, I heard that inspection conduct checks on this service cos there seems to be many ppl not tapping their ezlink when they onboard. Quite rare to see feeder service having this.

does 179A operate during off peak?
In any case, 179's off peak most peak hr is typically from BNL 45 min - 10 min, and from NTU at 25 min - 50 min of e hour.
We plan is for Weekdays peak hr 1st. On Sat & Sun, e layover 179A can be deployed elsewhere.
Well most of e trips during AM peak I've noticed is opp of wat u mentioned. Give me 10 ADD, 7 are empty on e upper deck.
CHC one very simple.. They dun want to move, give you SD lor. Ltr dun complain why so squeezy now

Okok...you wanna a race to see who runs the fastest?
Surely not, i think, because all of you are just too lazy to run!
