ok
anyway...I think 88 has a shot at getting new DDs again. Traditionally, with the exception of the VSOs, 88 has been a candidate for new buses. ( Beginning 1999, MKIV DM3500, VO3X III, B9TL, K230UB).
which seems a little ironic given 88 started out with CRBs, 0405s (?), MKIV DMs, MKIIIs and the only new buses, MKIV DM3500s. After the SD fleet proved to be inadequete for the high demand, the then brand-new VO3X III came into the picture, starting its association with DDs..

72 also.

72 to a lesser extent IMO.
If its in terms of DDs, yes.
LO3Xs => VO3X => VSO => B9TL.
But one thing I don't really get is that whatever buses were given to 72 tend to run rough after a while. I think a good example is 9580J which was a totally awesome DD on 88. Upon it being transferred to 72, its acceleration is just pathetic even though you could hear the radiator working hard. And 9037L. Totally CMI. The 72 B9TLs....don't think I need to elaborate. Ok, the VSOs were in pretty good condition when they got transferred out, they are sorely missed.

Merczs were also replaced by KUBs sicne 72 is already a WAB service.
Past -> Now
LO3x + VSO + VO3x + Merczs -> LO3x (minority) + VO3x (minority) + B9TLs + KUBs
The K230UBs were more like hand-me-downs from other services rather than brand-new in the case of 88 ( the 5*** series).
Actually at one point, 72 had no VO3X. Like 88, 72 had VO3X IIIs, but they were completely removed from the fleet with the arrival of the VSOs.
Also like 88, 72 had MKIIIs and MKIVs for SDs.

wonder if the Wright B9TL will have vibrating noise like the CDGE B9TL? what is causing the vibrating noise on the CDGE B9TL? yesterday took 7496 on 88, the bus makes all sorts of vibrating noise when its stationary. very noisy.
haiis chill lahs uue ppl horzx.. lai lai who fwee we go sit bus tgt as a chill pill~~

72 used to have perm MKIIIs.
The vibrations has to do with the engine mounting, and the fact that the ZF ones at least, have their NBS disabled. For some reason, SBST usually disables the NBS function for their ZF buses.

yes, its fast and quiet when its moving, but super noisy when its stationary with all the vibration noise.
The layout for the Wright B9TLs are mostly similar to the CDGE B9TL's layout.

Reminds me, i took SBS7496H on monday, was sitting at the rear of the upper deck, the bus was vibrating like mad when its not moving. but i love the engine sound of B9. Some service 80 B9s like to vibrate badly also
