why it won't? Is it because of the vandalism, or stealing. DM3500 is cheap, Citaros is expensive.

It's stated that they will get DM3500...If you wanna see Citaro on 160/170, i bet you must wait up to 12years..

What are their reasons why they cannot use new buses for 160/170? (State your reasons in the next post)

i'm sure u wouldn't want to see them scratched on e 1st day it starts operations, right?
Queen St Terminal cannot use KUB
Actually dun think SBS would make any trial.. they'll just buy it and trying w/ commuters.
The engine spacing & step relation horse can't run, you can remove e 2 steps in e centre, but can't run away from e big 1x step for those seats towards e rear.

They'll never put it on 103. Have been taking that service almost 6 years of my life and it's always been the old buses. After Mk2 was Mk3 now they're replacing with some ZF DM Mk4.
The BC told me the company won't allocate K230UBs (or whatever new/low floor bus) because the road at Seletar Camp is rough and unpaved (and they wouldn't want to destroy the new buses).
But probably 103 will get it after Seletar Aerospace Hub is up :)

I know. I just said that 195 has many Mk3s. That's all

the only thing i can think of why 1x trial + 66... 40% wab quota..
even w/ this 66, SMRT will fail MOT's demand over e quota. only 22% nia

NPNT... moreover SLs aren't exactly the best nor the most reliable sources of information.

SBST Superlong (SBS997A) is still around, they only sold away their bendies.
Cheers.

With the period where the SMRT Citaro is on trial, SBS TRANSIT or anybody would be able to make evaluations on the Citaro bus and wholefully decide whether to purchase or not.For SBS TRANSIT to decide to purchase 300 CITAROS, it must've meant that the CITAROS had fulfilled the requirements of SBS TRANSIT. Coupled with the drop of the euro and pound, this made it a perfect time to acquire the CITARO buses.
I dont think its a race over who purchased the best bus. I think it was more of seeing if the bus had fulfilled the bus companies requirements. In this case, I think SMRT had not purchased them because it does not meet the requirements or either waiting till the trial period ends before making an evaluation and coming to a decision to purchase the bus.
Whatever it is, would like to see CITAROS from both SMRT and SBS TRANSIT for the future!
Lol... Sounds like SBS Transit put spy to ride on SMB136C for performance...
