C'wealth Ave West/ Clementi Ave 3/ Clementi Ave 4 junction only allows right turn to Clementi Ave 3 from C'wealth Ave West (i.e. Sv 99, 173 & 196). Others are banned due to form up space constrain.

Clementi Ave 3 is a small road, and the sheer number of buses using this road (14, 78, 96, 147, 165, 166, 175, 284M, 285), along with the "queue" due to the full carpark at NTUC Fairprice area frequently causes hiccups. Avenue 3 would be a disaster if bendies uses it.
SMRT uses Avenue 1 instead of the Avenue West/Clementi Road junction because that junction is slow. There's little or no traffic light at Avenue 1. I believe SMRT/LTA did not want to use Avenue 2 because that particular road is extremely vulnerable to jams anytime (including weekends), due to the screwed traffic light timings. If you did realised, most of the roads that the shuttle goes through are major roads (Jurong Town Hall Rd, AYE, Clementi Road, Ave West). They did not want to cause any hiccups to smaller roads..
For those who ask why SMRT/LTA did not use Avenue 5, i believe it is due to that particular road length issue. Minus away the junction into car parks and the bus stop, there's literally little space left to accommodate the bendies - Avenue 4 is different. There's only 284/284M passing through throughout the day, and the road end means that bendies can park all way before the roundabout and after the roundabout.

You don't really get to choose the shuttle bus because you'll be quickly herded on board by the temp staff. It's kind of like a taxi queue at Changi Airport. Walking in is a kind of roulette.

not true... many decided to switch to 154 or 185 for those familiar w/ e routing. Some walked up to take 99.it's those not familiar and started asking e SMRT staff who knows nothing abt alt plans.

dun forget Clementi Ave 1 at C'wealth Ave West is considered a side road, no priority to move out until traffic stops and you occupy e yellow boxes. Tat's why there's 1 auxiliary officer deployed there.If they'd used Clementi Rd & C'wealth Ave West direct no nid all these.
Tat stretch of Ave 4 for pick up has Sv 7, 184, 282, 284 using it.
It's all because of using bendy buses.

77 buses worry for wat? Ends up some buses return to CLE or JUE empty as there's too many buses queueing up.
During during bus sv ops bus not enough running time no one kpkb, now MRT shuttle kachiong spider scared not enough buses.
The buses were travelling relatively slowly due to the raised pedestrian corssing in the area and construction work going on in the area.

none of the bendy buses i saw left Jurong East empty. And all buses queuing up at Clementi Ave 4 will leave with pax inside the bus...And not every bus heads to the Jurong East boarding point after disembarking passengers at the alighting point...

wat i do want to mean is empty back to e other pick up pt after alighting passengers.So ytd my convoy ended up w/ 2 empty in front, 2 loaded behind.

toward clementi, yes. there are some bendies which no have ppl at all. 1st bendy and 3rd bendy got lang, 2nd bendy bo lang. -
in any case, the next round would be much simpler, not so complicated.
Furthermore there aren't much alternative at CCK less 172 to BNL or 985 to Bt Batok lol.

how terrible.. look at the empty shuttle buses bll-ing.. wasting resources n spaces..
really they need 78 bendies?? so many near empty buses.. and the winding route!!today i waited near 15mins for 190 at Pearl Ctr.. the info system says 3mins > Arr > 5mins > Arr > 9mins > and finally appear...
i think with this exercise, its clear bendies are a space liability with the long.. need to go long winding route, need to park at ulu roads etc..
and why cant they rope in SBST and their double deckers..? -

I spotted 2 to 3 bendies heading towards Science Centre Road to park at there...
At night towards Clementi direction, in every 3 to 4 bendies, I only spot 1 bus with commuters on board, the rest are empty.
