no SBST or SMRT bus made use of curtains.

If companies in sg use China-made buses as their own, why can't it be?
If companies (local or abroad) choose to use Gemilang as their preferred coach-builder, why not?
some people just cannot accept the fact that many corporate decisions are driven by cost considerations which provide the best overall value.
i do hope sbst would do the same to like what it did to the OC500LE. its not easy to handle such buses. sbst dun garam, use it to boost company's reputation through its "initiatives" to greener technology and end up murdering the bus into crap. just look at SBST's B9TL, B10TL and KUBs are fine examples, so quickly in bad shape.

hopefully the hybrid will be used for a year then bye-bye to it as the trial determined as unsuccessful ;)

I don't really see any issues with the B10TL and the K230UB.
If you're not going to venture into such a course, when do you intend to?
And as long as the bus gets me from point A to B in relative comfort and attempts to reduce its carbon footprint, why not?
And if we're gonna talk about "boosting reputation", I think SMRT is a worse culprit.
Will the bus have seatbelt for BC?

i had a talk with a mechanic in sbst recently. he said these 3 are the largest culprits. he said the B10TLs are the most buay tahan, very problematic, always end up in workshop. the aircon especially.

That really recalls memories of 9889U in its first year of service. That's despite its introduction being much later than the other B10TLs.

B10TLs are basically very comfortable to sit at the upper deck but if you compared them now to probably a year or 2 ago, you would notice the condition has deteriorated alot. from seat cushions to dirty interior parts, poor aircon circulation particularly lower deck, bad insulation with strong diesel smell, suspension issues - bus sometimes tilts like its tipping for no reason, axle issues esp at tag axle. drivers complain the bus has poor pickup and very stiff brakes, press until leg pain.
of late many B10TLs have been upholstering seat cushions of stronger material which can be observed to be darker in colour, kudos to that.
to SBS2601D: SBS9889U current interior condition is alot left to be desired, dirty and black, lower deck floorboards are peeling off, seat cushions broken as well.
lets not go offtopic, shall we (:

the bus tilts after a corner as it is a design feature by Volvo, not SBST. the bus will level itself back to its original position after coming to a stop. poor pickup due to a misinformed choice of gearbox and some drivers not knowing how to disengage the interlock properly. 9888Y which had a ZF performed much better than its Voith siblings.

Must also understand that hydrogen fuel cells requires the use of platinum as a catalyst to convert hydrogen to energy. This would bring up the cost of the vehicle pretty much until they manage to find a alternative material that's as efficient to replace it.

i've taken B10TLs that can even start tilting quite badly to a side while moving straight then recover while moving, it never happened 6 months ago. and when you sit on the right when on sv31 B10TL from bedok south rd bound tpy. you feel like the whole bus is gonna flip which i didnt feel a year back. i do take tpy ADD full routes a lot. perhaps go try some day. (:
Oh this bus is quite nice actually, just the top
