This double deck bus was the first double deck bus to run on Singapore roads. Though the model presented is not having the exact livery and registration plate number, body not tropically modified, but the model and body work is the same.
In October 1953, this double deck bus from the fleet of the General Transport Company, Kuala Lumpur (GTC, KL), was sent to Singapore on demonstration. Its No. 52 in GTC fleet registered as BA 6421 in KL. It was used for 2 weeks in Singapore Traction Company (STC) service and for the 1st week it ran on Service 18, plying Finlayson Green to Tampines, and for the 2nd week, it was plying on STC's most frequent motor-bus service 10, Moulmein Road to Neil Road.
However, sadly, no orders were taken as local operators prefered single deck motor-buses.
