I am on 171 now, cant see bus rego... A few minutes ago, there happen to be bus conductors coming onboard to check tickets or Ez-Link cards... I have not been seeing bus conductors for a few years already and thought there is no more of such post... So they still exist but lesser now? Or is it just some kind of sudden check?

Ticket Inspectors are still around to ensure that people do pay and not evade their fares.
There seems to be less of them now...
instead of checking the ticket they also check and scan the ezlink. yes, seem to see them less frequently.(which is good)
1000th post
The last time I encountered them was before the change of the CEPAS Ez-Link card.
Its been a few years since I last got checked by SBS conductors... MIA already?

err.. tot bus conductors is those who collect fare and punch tickets on the buses last time.... should be bus inspectors mah..
i encountered 3 different inspectors at different times while driving 3921Z from toa payoh - pasir ris, pasir ris - toa payoh.
ticket inspector lah..
my former classmate is currently working as one right now under SMRT.
i usually see him near BP/WDL/G.LOR1
The last time I was inspected by a ticket inspector was SBS9130A on 97 . I was paying cash and he told me to show the ticket I took.
The ticket inspectors are now either under PTC(public transport council) or LTA, and their tag change liao, not company de, now wear white shirt and lanyard with a card inside.
I tio Mr Phillip one week ago on SBS9554? on svc 8, then got a lot of ppl kenna 20 dollar fine, at the back one big group of teenagers evade fare, bus at interchange stilll fin-ing them, and I was like LOL? Inspectors so good, but so bad.....
I saw how they do the fin-ing:
1)tell them they evade fare, ask them pay 20 dollars
2)inspector go downstair dunno get what tix
3)inspector comes back, take the fine, and give change if necessary
4)issue receipt
END
omg. so drama ah...?

why? quite normal what.... i think not dramatic enough, should shout at the passenger they evade fare and ask them pay 20 dollars so loudly, everyone in the bus can hear, and he will be the second Chester Bennington :D

the inspectors are still under their own companies, but are authorized by PTC as agents under the PTC Act to collect fine for fare evasion.
you won't see inspectors checking on a SBST bus, then goes on to check a SMRT bus, or vice versa.
i once got inspector three times in three consecutive days.
i think 9831 on 28, 9674 on 80 and a strider on 159
Yes. 2 weeks ago I was checked. Bus conductor board the bus with me. LOL...

LOL... YES YOU DID!
Btw...
SBST conductors damn fierce. Dun like them. Always make you seem like you owe them a living. -_-"
Always confiscate small children's Ezlink card and say the card is defaced. -_-" I was Primary 4 back then, the stupid conductor confiscated my card and walked away. Imagine what would happen if I had no cash. -_-"
SMRT conductors, on the other hand, usually say "Thank you" after they check your cards. Much better.
