New Distance Fares posters are being slotted into poster frames of majority of the SBS Transit buses and most Woodlands Depot (WLDEP)-based SMRT buses since last week.
i find it quite stupid that you can only take MRT once.

this T&C is screwed if I want to get from Yew Tee to Changi Prison via Woodlands
According to ppl at 1 Hampshire Rd, you have to take a train to Jurong East, then to Tanah Merah, then Service 2.
But if I want to take train to Khatib, then 969, then train to Tanah Merah then Service 2 - it will not apply.

Posters up on bus stop at Ten Mile Junction and probably more bus stops will have these information soon. =)

i was thinking Simei to Sembawang
Train Tampines -> 969 Khatib-> Train seems the fastest. gothere.sg also states this.

If it's me, I'll do a 858 > T3 (MRT) > Simei. A whole lot more convenient. If not, it would mean utilising sv 39 from Pasir Ris.

With CCL, you can now do:
SIM -> PYL -> BSH -> SBW

There was a recent reply by LTA over a ST forum letter over similar matter.
They acknowledge there's merit over MRT - bus - MRT connection. But current policy stands tat MRT ride is taken as direct compared to bus - MRT or bus - bus
In any case the real ppl who benefit is those taking 160 & 170. Now can cross change buses bet Woodlands Rd, CIQ & JB.
I would recommend those who are unhappy about the 1 MRT ride ruling give their feedback to LTA via the feedback form.
They nearly always reply (just that maybe it takes 1-2 weeks) so no worries there. I just gave mine too.
think we should let LTA know there is a critical mass who hopes to see such a change.

agu, i thought they can already do that now (take whichever bus comes first along Woodlands Rd or Kranji MRT), as long as they switch buses at Woodlands CIQ or JB CIQ to complete the journey?

yeah, but after that you can take either 160 or 170X to get to Kotaraya II no matter how you arrived there, right? or were you charged differently?

maybe he mean between 950....
but.... how do they determine the "distance".. as in the case of 112, 155 etc..
also, now, 950 (between Woodlands CIQ and JB CIQ, and between JB CIQ and JB Sentral) is 1.5 stages, 160/170 is only 0.5 stages.. actual physical distance is much greater...
Also, how do they calculate ditances? based on fare stages? or re-measure the distance?

its easier to reject than appease?

I think it's to dow/ history.
Macpherson Estate's case I think is because last time all buses gotta do G/ W plate since Circuit Link was not paved yet. To benefit long haul commuters as well.
As for 160/ 170, the old boarding bus stop of KTM bus stop could be e possible basis.
Who the hell that created this Distance Fare thing man? Is so bloody complicated! And why don't they just stick to the past that count by stage by stage. More easier to see and understand. Strongly Disagree this Distance Fare charge.

i ran through a few examples.. i see myself getting penalised for not transferring and for depending on that longer-but-no-transfer journey.

all those dont know what can only have 5 transfers within 2 hours also dont know is what thingy.
and what does transfer means? if i take bus 969 to woodlands interchange then take another bus there also counted as a TRANSFER ?
really fed up with this Distance Fare thing. Any where that can we feedback or complain to them not man? Is like increasing the fare 20% more, blood sucker is it?
