Working hours of BC's & SL's?

  Question :Is SBS' captain working 7hours/day&6 days/ per week, Smrt's captain working 8 hours/day but 5 days/week?

  For both companies, the working hour of duties vary anywhere from just above 5 hours (very special cases) to 11 hours 59 minutes (due to MOM regulation). For any working hour above 8 hours, OT pay will be given to the driver.

  Between both companies, there is no clear way to say, SMRT drivers work less or more than SBST drivers, because the way the guidelines for shift types are defined for both companies are very similar.

  average for sbst is about 10hours/day, 6days/week

  you can't say 48 hours minimum, 'cos every duty got different working hours. some drivers also got 7hr plus duty for 6 days morning shift. so, just follow MOM law, minimum is 44 hours for full-timers.

  thats why we got TAFEP(Tripatite Alliance Fair Employment Practices) to protect the welfare of the workers.

  I've just checked SMRT's rosters and realised that they're all on 5-day work week.

  But between them, the average working hours per day should not defer much, and you're likely to work a minimum of 8 hours a day.

  10x6=60. average 60hr/week.

  1week you have 168hrs. 60hrs spent on work and 56hrs spent on sleep. you have only about 52hrs left to yourself.

  A third of a day left to personal activities including travelling to and from workplace. And if it's a split shift you're likely to commit (but not spend) a greater amount of time on your job.

  are you singaporean? if you are. go and look for a better job. even though singaporeans are paid more in SBS.

  yes 6-day work week. allowance depends on the shift type, bus type & no of routes you are covering in the duty assigned to you. most of the money on top of basic pay comes from overtime...
