According some of the rumour from my friend, SBS Transit was purchased the Scania K-series double decker for demonstration, is it true??
Thanks
K310UD? Not a bad choice if SBST were to bring it in, as LO3X are going off soon.
Cheers.
Just don't buy it with a Gemilang body, that's my only wish if this Scania were to be bought

The Wright Gemini II B9s are supposed to replace the LO3x. If SBST likes the K310 and places an order, its to replace some VO2x and some Batch 1 VO3x. These guys were registered around the same time.
But of course I dont wish to see them ending up buying 500 K310s to replace all the VOs eventually, then we'll see 1600 Scania buses (assuming no more Scania SDs) in SBST's fleet -_-

Maybe SBS Transit wants its fleet to be at least 80% Scania buses?

As the Volvo Olympian 2 axle were brought on year 1994. 17 years means will end at 2011 if there are no extension of lifespan. Maybe is replacing that bus.
700 K310UD Gemilangs with Coolair EDS!
Confirm a lot of bus fans will switch to SMRT.

I think it is best that not to speculate. Wait for the offical press or pictures.
But heard that the Scania K310UD is expensive, (more expensive then a Volvo B9TL), when it is brought into KMB Hong Kong. Is it true???

I won't because SMRTB cmi.
Anyway, I think SBST will still prefer Volvo as double deckers.
I've always liked SMRT buses....but then that's because I liked TIBS choices and mainteinance for its buses.
Any pictures?
The K310UD has lots of problem in HK, one got smoke coming out just enter to service......
to me.......the K310UD is not so comfortable
video of the first K310UD in HK

they can always change their mind...but i think in the future SBST fleet would be scania SDs and volvo DDs
If they purchase the Scania DD to replace Vo2x, then the SLBP batch 1 Vo3x would be redeployed to jis and there would be mass depot transfer.

Get a better body manufacturer...
LOL. According to an article, SBST has close ties with Volvo, especially relating to DDs. So I think they will continue to support the Volvo DDs. Think this appeared in the article of Batch 2 B9TL, if not batch 1...

I hope so. Volvo buses are great.
Especially the new B9TLs.
If sbs purchase the Scania DD it will not be the first Scania DD I have taken the old scania non air con DD before, it was good and at least not very noisy compare to volvo B9TLs. Should I said it the same model as the old scania single deckers bus sbs used to has.

Can you cite the article, if possible?
I also suppose that SBST and Volvo have close ties... look how many buses are ordered from them. Quite like SMRT and Mercedes-Benz
I hope SBST wun buy the Scania K310UD.Cuz my fren told me of the big problems they gave in hk until they had to be dereg and sent bac to Scania for major inspection or changing of the affected parts be4 being re-reg and sent bac agn.
Iirc,my fren said the prob was in the rear the ac unit fanbelt or someting. But i rmb the prob was damn serious. So i hope tat sbst wld jus stick to the Wright B9s order and if possible, extend the order to another 50 :)
