Lorong Danau is a road which goes from Nanyang Avenue to Jalan Sungei Poyan. The speed limit is usually 35km/h (but now, it was increased to 50km/h by LTA). And, this is a public road. The forested area is on the right, but all the signs on the road junctions are brand-new. There are no buildings, apart there was no protected area sign, no sign showing '201 Squadron'. The eastern part has a protected area sign.
Now many people use this road to go to National Shooting Centre, or Choa Chu Kang Columbarium. And on Old Choa Chu Kang Rd junction, they said 'Old Choa Chu Kang Rd (Jalan Sungei Poyan)'.
And where's the 201 Squadron? I didn't see. The Old Choa Chu Kang Rd wad was using did not stop at National Shooting Centre.
did u went all the way in? if u go all the way in, to your left or something, up on a slope, is the 201 squadron carpark and entrance. been there before..
but i dont think you can go through Jln Sungei Poyan all the way to the shooting centre.. theres a gate which is locked quite oftenly
I thought 201 Sqn is from Jln Danau instead? Jln S. Poyan gate is locked most of the time.
Cheers.
can go in meh? always see the officers alight 199 at the bus stop at the fringe of NTU and board the shuttle van....
at the end of old choa chu kang rd (at national shooting centre), wad did you see? Jalan Sungei Poyan, protected area sign, fence or a gate that has last time used to be locked. And on the Streetdirectory (mighty minds) there is no gate at Jalan Sungei Poyan.
Its protected area sign shows 'NO ADMITTANCE TO UNAUTHORISED PERSONS'. (There were some training by SSA, and SAF). Which is pasted left of Jalan Sungei Poyan.
Did you know wad locker the Jalan Sungei Poyan gate is using? (If got gate, then thats the excuse).
405 loops there right
Jalan Sungei Poyan one part of it link to Lorong Danau and another part link to Pasir Laba Road. The part that link to Pasir Laba Road is in the live firing area.
I remember there is a locked gate there at the end of Old Choa Chu Kang Road and the junction of Jalan Sungei Poyan while taking a ride on service 405.

why is it locked? for wad purpose? Didn't they allow entry to poyan reservoir or ntu from national shooting centre? And, for that matter, Jalan Sungei Poyan may either end at the dead end (500m to poyan reservoir), or Pasir Laba Road.
They don't have gate. (Or at least if they have a gate must call who?)

loop where? dead end (must reverse), or go circus at the Jalan Sungei Poyan. I will ask LTA and PTC about the 405 extension from Old Choa Chu Kang Road end to Jalan Sungei Poyan.
That thing is this - Google Street View only see part of Lorong Danau through Nanyang Avenue, but the whole of Jalan Sungei Poyan, Lorong Danau and part of Old Choa Chu Kang Road from the path 4 to the jalan sungei poyan junction doesn't have. It will be released together with version 2.0 (Latest: January 2010).
I just know that many cars have driven through this type of ulu roads before. Around there, part of it was Hua Yi sec, and part is driver training purposes (+ Military vehicles).
While they installed new poles, did they use lorong danau?
