Greeting pals,
With the Airshow public weekend approaching, may anyone proceeding contribute more pics & infors, especially on the public shuttle bus from Changi Aiport > Airshow & back.

A total of 100 bendies were roped in for the shuttle today. (Thanks XiaoTaro for the last rego) The shuttle starts at 8am from T2/T3 Arrival Hall Coach stand towards Airshow and ends at 3pm. For the reverse direction, the shuttle starts at 2pm and the last bus is at 7pm. However for the first bus shuttle timings it's actually much earlier because they had to cater to the large influx of people at about 12.30pm when the first shows ended. And for the last bus timings the 3pm last bus from CGA was extended because at 3.15pm I still saw people boarding the bus towards Airshow.

So there wasn't really much chaos and I didn't have to wait for a bus back to CGA in the heat too. :P

They learnt the lesson the hard way last year. So this year things are a lot better.

It was told that 60 bendies are used from T3 - Exhibition Centre - T3. 30 bendies for T2 - Exhibition Centre - T2.. And 10 spare bendies, in case of breakdown..

T3 is KJDEP and WLDEP buses while T2 is AMDEP buses

Saw TIB1031L off svc at Turf Club Rd heading KJDEP at 6.20pm.TIB1106E is WLDEP 913.

TIB1170T - WLDEP with airshow ad
Overall, i have to say they did quite a good job this round with the airshow. On my trip to changi exibition center the bendy was less than 30% filled, and return trip everyone was seated while waiting time was negligible. More of the buses waiting for the ppl than the other way round.

I believe they got spam with rigids.
190 seems to have gotten almost a full fleet rigid today (Sat).

I believe it is the Airshow organisers who chartered more buses for the event after a few years of disaster in crowd management over buses, and not SMRT itself.
I guess the 10 spare buses were to rotate the bus drivers during the lunch / dinner break. Spare bus for breakdown cum lunch / dinner break. -

There are less people coming this year, even though the numbers were capped at 60k, there were still tickets available for today's entry yesterday, means there was a significant drop in number of public visitors.

There were 2 accidents at the Coach Bay this afternoon.
1. TIB891C was turning round to pick up pax for T3 Shuttle when it hit the tentage and it's side mirror was damaged. SMRT staff took care of the accident.
2. A Private Coach was also turning round to pick up exhibitors when it hit the EXACT same tentage which TIB891C hit and it caused the side mirror to crack and the door window was damaged. CISCO guards acessed the scene.
P.S: I was working as a traffic marshal at the airshow today and stationed at the coach bay. Was helping divert the buses away from the accident location.
