ICA ruling: All foreign students in private education institutions must have 3 hours of academic study daily. This affected the SIM-UB timings (since their lessons are divided into 2 1 1/2 hrs lessons each week). To make SIM planning simpler, all lessons start at the same timings 8.30, 12, 3.30 .. not to mention all end at about the same time.
Seriously arh, this is one thing thoe private bus operators can come in. I know some SIM peeps just hitch on the NP shuttle ... hehe.

852 already has bad frequencies, and removing one bus is going to make matters worse for the service. More people are going to complain. Even to take out one bus from 852, it is still logical to add it into 855 instead. 855 has very erratic frequencies in the peak hours and sometimes the current fleet can't even cope with the load during peak. Moreover many services can't really cope with the current fleet already, so crossover is not a feasible way out.Like what I've said, if they don't take on RWS and use the extra fleet to improve standards of the current services, there won't be so much woes now.
Yeah i agreed. If they dont take or PTC dont allow them to run RWS they can use the buses for fleet addition for these services.I do hope that Sentosa awarded the contract to private operators when SMRT contract expired.I too was an ex SBST & SMRT bus driver and i understand how frustated it can be for pax waiting so long for a bus service abeit the traffic jams.At least your style of reply is more sensible than someone who think that i hate him!FYI i'm not a pro-SMRTB.

dun forget there is demand for SP students, and also the JW Ave 3 bus stops towards slbp bound which have a lot of Westwood Sec students boarding the bus, even 1 ADD also cant handle the load when many Westwood students trying to squeeze in the bus during PM peak.
i think the buona vista bound has high demand than slbp bound during pm peak.
Best thing to have a downroute from there to BPJ.

151 should be rather empty between kent ridge to ngee ann. Get them to start from clementi stn to ngee ann then continue svc 151..
btw, i thought there used to be ngee ann shuttle? where are they?
Although I live in W'lands, normally I still wait for the second or third 184 bus to arrive to board, if not, the first bus will have to squeeze. I don't take 75 unless otherwise. Or even when I see 74, 151, 154, I will hop on to take aternative route back home.
If 184 ---> 961 (offpeak) / 960 (Hate to stand on 961/963/966 during peak hrs)
If 74 ---> 161 (seldom) / 169 (Wait for 2nd bus if the queue is long at AMK Int)
If 151 ---> 161 (seldom) / 966 (Loop at Marine Parade, back to WRI)
If 154 ---> 966 (Loop at Marine Parade, back to WRI)

it's empty but it's also tied to do downroute for 200A & e 151 BTC downroute.

Please explain why there's a new addition of 1 S2 shift into 852 for 2010 then.
You don't know the demand for 852 in the morning towards BB. The bus is fully seated departing Yishun!

you go and argue w/ me for everything I post and say I kpkb even for small things w/ SMRT. If everyone can take effort to serve e ppl, there wun even be any problems I can say.
The baby pram thing is common sense, if e bus gotta e-brake so e light baby pram got flunk to e front, break e window and hit the vehicle in front? Go and think why PIW's supporting bay is facing to e rear. Let me tell u, tis kind of accident can occur to anyone.
But the RWS one could possibly occur on e over-ethu RWS staff at e Vivo bus stop.

You sure about the 151 being empty part?

Talking about that, another point is regarding Jalan Anak Bukit Bus Stop (towards NP)
I try to avoid that bus stop during peak hours (if I take Sv 985, would rather alight at Shell Station Bus Stop and walk by the back gate)
Sometimes there are high loads of students who take services like (67, 961 etc...) and alight at there to transfer to Sv 52,61,75,184.
Even though there are four services to choose from, it can be a headache to board them(partly students don't want to move to the rear), jam along Upp Bt Timah Rd, PIE and etc....
Other issues....
I think they can put a big banner or poster at NP Bus Stop to remind them to move to the rear
Sv 151A can be extended to Jalan Toa Payoh (Trellis Towers Bus Stop) if feasible, as many students will alight at there.

these buses instead of doing a return trip to hougang went off service to BTC to start downroute back to Kent Ridge. Captures ppl xferring from 61 52 74 75 184 852 and maybe 157.
I suggest a new service
164 - Clementi MRT >>> Upper Bukit Timah Road (SHELL STATION) (Loop)
(Using 184 Loop)
(Turn back from SHELL to Bukit Timah Plaza like 52, 157, 174)
Operated by SBST
(Operates on Weekdays Only)
4 rigids (DM3500s from BBDEP)
(10 mins per bus)
Operating Hours:
0720 hrs to 0850 hrs
(Clementi MRT)
0740 hrs to 0910 hrs
(SHELL STATION)
1050 hrs to 1150 hrs
(Clementi MRT)
1110 hrs to 1210 hrs
(SHELL STATION)
1310 hrs to 1340 hrs
(Clementi MRT)
1330 hrs to 1400 hrs
(SHELL STATION)
1450 hrs to 1700 hrs
(Clementi MRT)
1510 hrs to 1720 hrs
(SHELL Station)
1750 hrs to 1900 hrs
(Clementi MRT)
1810 hrs to 1910 hrs
(SHELL Station)
2120 hrs to 2200 hrs
(Clementi MRT)
2140 hrs to 2220 hrs
(SHELL Station)
It will ease the load for SIM and Ngee Ann Poly.

151 is full from Kent Ridge to Ngee Ann Poly during school time peak hour.
151A on the other hand, does not seem to have many persons boarding as many do not know that the bus stop could bring them to the bus stop at Bukit Timah Road (after Rifle Range Road).
151 from NP/SIM to NUS is also packed in the late mornings. and 151 is only single deck.
today, I was annoyed by the fact that after my long awaited 74(double-deck non aircon) arrived, after moving along for 2-3 bus stops, another 74(airconed) was behind, great! Does this always happen?
and I still have no idea why 33 isnt double deck.

151 has 4 double decks during peak hours.
33 cannot use double decks due to its route inside Joo Chiat and Telok Kurau estates
This bus squeeze is really a problem.
If you know how the NTU Shuttle from Pioneer Sation comes about, then similar thing may happen here also. ^^

WOW... what time was it? Where did you board the bus?
61, 184 must always wait for a few buses before U can board one.

sv74 is always late during peak periods as many pax take this sv from hg/amk/marymount to SIM/NP/SP
add to e usual jam along clementi rd and this explains why 2 or 3 sv74 buses bunch.
