but 154A buses are in a sense to supplement 154 Eunos bound at 8am.
However 154's Boon Lay bound buses e erratic problem occurs at BNL from 8:30am - 9:30am
Originally posted by gd4u:The reason from of the added crowds is due to changes in timetable, thanks to a ICA ruling. SIM-UB also changed their morning lessons to start at 8.30 (used to be 9). Hence, the whole darned SIM starts at the same time.
In this case, might as well g et 52/154/74 to increase frequencies too.But surely, that aint possibly going to happen. I hope private mini bus can come into the picture though.
What's with the ICA ruling?
RMIT courses used to start at 845am or 930am and 2pm... now its like same timing for the whole school.
I believe its due to increased intake of students. Probably because of the closure of certain private schools and also to temporary house increased intake before the new annex at SIM officially opens.
Messed up. Seriously. Our bus system is getting worst and worst.
I hope the central planning doesnt screw the already bad system further.
I hope those people take buses for goodness sake.
Not like some smart graduate who drives to work, think everything about MRT and link all buses to connect MRT without any consideration for bus routes that provides shorter links than MRT.

it's all LTA's flip flop policy. Pro - MRT neglect buses (even to e pt of feedering ppl), let ppl own cars (telling ppl bo bian cos of affluence).

Ya lor. And the PTC where SBST and SMRT representatives sit inside the council. What a conflict of interest council mann...
on the way to school, I will take 74 from opposite FMPS/FMSS. that way I get to seat. And when it reaches Dover MRT at around 8.30/8.45. Bless them all when the 74 is a single deck. the thing is that there is only 1 service that plys from Dover MRT to SIM/NP. However more buses ply from Clementi MRT to SIM/NP.
On the way back, I start from NP and at least you get to climb onto the bus, while the SIM peeps might not. Sometimes army men and some CHS students will also be on the bus and it will very full.
The fact that SIM is expanding and which mean more classes at a certain time slot will mean more frequency in bus services. Add rainy days and going home peak hour.

They dun sit inside e council anymore. But in anyways, after all policies are all made by 1 gp of ppl...
So if e gp of ppl are kilat then it's ok.
Pretty missed e govt policy of 1970s and 1980s.

It's because of e past pre MRT era bus routings
Back then 74 terminated at Clementi, it was Sv 202 tat operated bet Buona Vista & King Albert Park/ Beauty World (Loop).
Sv 74 & 202 merged and Clementi leg partly replaced by Sv 154 or 184.

If I didnt remember wrongly. 4 PTC council members step down just few days ago at one go. Reported in the Straits Times.

Ic. Ok...
Withdraw from the RWS services and you can get 10 more buses and BCs to improve the situation of 184 and other 4 services' frequencies (like 700, 858, 966, 980) at least, if 2 buses are used for every of the 4 services to improve frequncies. Simple as that.

Haha... SMRT will surrender 700, 858, 966, 980 for RWS.
Believe it anot? When they have to bid for services, I am sure SMRT will not bid for most of the services.
I think it's best to take out one bus from a service that doesn't have too much demand like Sv 852 or add in one more S2 slot to 184 that would make downroutes from SIM. Also, we have to take note whether it would be economical which i doubt it would be. The most economical way is to have a crossover from another service.

Then go ahead. I'll be glad that SBST or someone better to take over these services.

852 already has bad frequencies, and removing one bus is going to make matters worse for the service. More people are going to complain. Even to take out one bus from 852, it is still logical to add it into 855 instead. 855 has very erratic frequencies in the peak hours and sometimes the current fleet can't even cope with the load during peak. Moreover many services can't really cope with the current fleet already, so crossover is not a feasible way out.
Like what I've said, if they don't take on RWS and use the extra fleet to improve standards of the current services, there won't be so much woes now.
please la
184 is so small fry
154 is the worst
got so many times i had to wait for hour++ just for a bus
early become late

thanks to SIM's room allocation system, RMIT and UB students follow the UOL class timings as what u said in your very first post. Good for SIM, bad for the PTOs.
For 1830 dismissals, it takes about 40min to clear most pax from the SIM bus stop 12091. From that bus stop. 61 takes the least % of the pax, followed by 52. The champion goes to 74 and 184. For some reason 75 pales against 184 probably cos of the timing.151 and 154 are evenly split as most students take whichever that comes first.
SIM's 0830 class creates problems for NUS' 0900 tutorials. NP isnt largely affected.
Dismissal at 1130 will face a 1 stop block northbound between SIM and NP as some NP classes start at 1200.
SIM's 1200 class also creates problems for NUS classes that start at 1200. However this can be spread out and not as problematic as the 0830 ones. The clash with be with NP classes that start at 1200.
Dismissal at 1500 would clash with the NP crowd. Fortunately around 1515 got 1 74 downroute from NP to help out.
SIM's 1530 class will clash with NUS 1600 classes but this is a small issue. Dismissal at 1830 doesnt affect NP side but will clash with people coming from Clementi MRT for their 1900 class. NUS side will clash with SIM also esp if NUS lecturers finish on time.
SIM's 1900 class clashes with PM Peak crowd, dont even need student loads. Dismissal at 2200 is no problem (like duh) as its the carpark that gets jammed and much lesser people take the bus home. 2220 bus stop cleared but carpark not yet.
Originally posted by sbst275:for Clementi side, think SBS should need to get to do something to 154. The Boon Lay bound buses are very erratic.
Certain time get dedicated buses for 154A.

if you do not know or so hate against what I'm saying tat you dun even go find info, 154's freq is 2 - 10 mins from BNL towards NP these days. The 2 mins is possible w/ 154A.
The only problem now is towards BNL's erratic schedule after post 0830 - 0930 schedule, because of jam at Woodsville, Clementi Rd, Clementi Ave 6

Of all services, it's the worst to take a whole bus from a small fleet like that of Service 852's...
Maybe we can get 185's DD from Buona Vista to help out by running to Clementi to do 154A...

Have not tried seeing 185's schedule w/ traffic condition, only sticky issue is w/ jam forming up at Clementi Ave 6 getting to C'wealth Ave West (City)
hope not of good intention goes bad cos bus lambat, later brunch w/ full trip of 154.
