What a shame.
I do hope SIA can launch a dierct shuttle bus service to the 2 IRs from Changi Airport as well, on top of your proposal.Changi Airport -> ECP -> Rocher Road -> Temasek Ave -> (New Bridge link to Sands IR) -> Marina Bay Sands -> Bayfront Ave -> Central Boulevard -> Shenton Way -> Keppel Road -> Telok Blangah Road -> Sentosa Getway -> Sentosa IR
Maybe Sentosa can also introduce some shuttle bus services to shopping/hotel areas like Marina Center, Novena and Orchard Road.
For Ducktours, they can introduce their amphibious vehicle service from Sentosa to Harbourfront and their open top double decker sightseeing buses for a bus service to the city area.
They have planned such bus routes:
They are not RWS prefixes, they call it 'R' (prefix) to distinguish it as 'Recreational', since that Resorts World at Sentosa is the only place that is recreational park (similar to Hong Kong Disneyland), and integrated resort area.
And suggested that route 79 (of which is former 625) will be extended to Marina Bay Sands in the near future.

I think SMRT isn't dumb enough not to realise this but again they put more priority to the Rail than buses. It is different story if TIBS still exist.I too was quite shock whey there're awarded the contract. It would be good if those two OCs are perm on 853 or 855

But as of now, RWS is still not completed, so do the higher charges for private cars entering Sentosa being not in effect as yet, therefore what happens on the first day may not be a sign of what's to come in the near future. Perhaps ridership on RWS8 may rise some day, but till then, we wouldn't know if it will be a profitable route.
To add on, I was thinking that Corp Comms didn't do their job of informing the general public of a new route. However, like I said earlier, RWS is not fully completed as yet. Touch-ups were still being done especially in and around the carpark area, so therefore the press release may have possibly been delayed in lieu of this.
I see. =)

The problem is that RWS has just started off as a soft launch meant only for their staffs and families. The actual offical opening date for the public is in fact on the 20th and not on the 9th. If by informing the public of the new bus route in might give the general public a misunderstanding that they are open and ready to welcome them. This is not the case. Even if you enter sentosa now, you could still see that they very still in fact under construction and not ready for the general public yet.

I don't think those withdrawn Sentosa services were under private operator. It was under SBSL.
I've taken SMRT bus in and out of Sentosa.
Not all the internal services were being served by SBSL.
soon going to be another airshow mess at Vivo though it's expanded.
That bus stop is alrdy super busy and rememebering SMRT's handling of PSR Ctrl bus stop issue for Airshow, going to be super malu
Tat aside, buses should be provided from heartlands esp during weekends to relief HBF's high public tpt facility load

NDP school shuttles were awarded to Transit Network Consortium, which usually subcontracts everything to bus operators.

If you ever took note of NDPeeps pic, you would realised there was sub contract of jobs for participants
Hope can boost the demand of RWS8 on January 28 when RWS conducts the first ever English concert there.
Just wonder, so can I just board the bus RSW8 now to RSW, will they ask for staff passes or something ? Cos from the article someone attached, there is a a sentense,
''A new pedestrian boardwalk to Sentosa is being built and transport operator SMRT will announce new public bus services within the next two weeks. It currently runs shuttle services for staff and family of Resorts World Sentosa. ''

Sekali SMRT quickly register the Citaro then put on service.
SMB22Y & SMB38C are possible candidates with RWS full body ad.
