Introduction of SMRT Resort World shuttle RWS8 on 9 Jan 2010

SMRT Buses will be introducing a new shuttle service RWS8 on 9 Jan 2010.
It will ply from Resorts World @ Sentosa to loop at Telok Blangah Rd.Note: This service will NOT call at HarbourFront Interchange.
The detailed route will be as follows:
Via Sentosa Resorts World B1 carpark, Sentosa Gateway, Telok Blangah Rd, U-turn at junction of Henderson Rd/Telok Blangah Rd, back to Telok Blangah Rd, Sentosa Gateway and terminate at Sentosa Resorts World B1 carpark.This service will call at the following bus stops
14519 Resorts World @ Sentosa
14141 VivoCity
14121 HarbourFront Stn
14139 Bef Seah Im Rd
Please note that for b/s code 14121 HarbourFront Stn, it is the bus stop outside HarbourFront Centre.This bus will not call at the bus stop 14129 HarbourFront Stn, the one that is outside Seah Im Hawker Centre. MRT passengers from HarbourFront Stn have to board RWS8 either at VivoCity or the bus stop outside HarbourFront Centre then the bus will U-turn at Henderson Rd junction before returning to Sentosa.
Operation hours are from 0600-2330 daily (departing from RWS)
A fare of $2 per person will be payable for the inbound trip into RWS, inclusive of the admission fee to Sentosa island. Payment can be made by cash or CEPAS card.
Passengers will not be charged for the outbound bus trip from RWS back to mainland.
Concessionary travel (including concessionary cardholders with Bus concession pass) and travel rebates are not applicable.
You can expect to see the publicity posters tomorrow and do check out the update on SMRT website.

No idea about the latter.
This service will be operated by AMDEP. It will be a full MB OC500LE WAB fleet. However this service will not be declared as WAB service until further notice.

Also, they haven't even settle their new batch of WAB services they throw WAB on the shuttle... quite a waste of resources.

Hello Pragadeesh10. A bit weird for the price structure don't you think? $2 for the trip, including island admission. Deosn't it make the bus trip free? FYI, those going to Resorts World by road need not pay island admission.
I bet your previous account got banned.

so is this fake or real?? If its real, then why is it that they haven mentioned about this 'RWS8' svc in their main website? If its fake, please, do have the courtesy of posting that route on the 'Route Suggestions' thread.

Yes it is TRUE.
There is a notice posted nt long ago at Yishun Int recruiting SL for RWS8.
Moreover, I kno of a person who work in RWS and he say its true.

If like that ah, then dun lock this thread lor. Expect to see SP-ers from AMDEP to be coming on RWS8. Most likely 25P - 29D would come to do the svc.

Saw the standby duty roster at YIBP the other day, some SP Merc OC500LEs have been assigned to run on this new service RWS8 as indicated on the roster. SMB36H is among one of them.So I believe that this is the reason why AMDEP had been putting the ex-171/851 Batch 1 OC500LEs running around as spare buses for all these while.

So service 167 is getting back all the perms like TIB619Z TIB918K TIB920C TIB935K? -
It would be a very hard time for AMDEP as they have to send the bus around 4-5am plus to the terminal to start the first trip.

I think it wont have a problem to have AMDEP sending OC to the starting terminal, since KJDEP, AMDEP & WLDEP had already been sending some of their buses to Harbourfront Terminal (188, 963, 855). I really cant wait to see an OC with the RWS8 on its EDS! :)
